2003 Ford Ranger won't move

Asked by lobranger21 May 03, 2016 at 10:53 AM about the 2003 Ford Ranger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2003 Ford Ranger (manual) turns on just fine and sounds normal but now
won't move forwards or backwards when I shift into gear or leave it in neutral
and try to push. Feels like parking break is on but it's not. I've read a lot of
posts of people saying it might be transmission, but I just had my transmission
fluid replaced 5 days ago. Any ideas?

Check the transmission to see if there is fluid in it. The person that drained the transmission fluid may have forgot to put the new fluid in it. Did the Ranger operate normally before having the transmission serviced?

Yes, I had for the most part, no problems before that. ABS light has been on but I don't think that is related to the problem because it has been on and off sporadically the last few months due to what I think is an electrical issue.

I am guessing the transmission is dry and a bearing or bearings is seizing up. Just a guess and certainly could be some thing else.
