I have a 1972 240z Datsun and I am trying to do an engine swap. I was wondering if a 2006 bmw M3 engine would fit?

yes, with lots of work and frustration and money.

i personally wouldn't it would have to be a different Nissan motor for me e.g. skyline, 350z or even 300zx as they are dirt cheap in the UK can pick them up all day long for bout £500 no tax or MOT but if your ripping motor out whats it matter if it isn't road legal.
