Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While in the yard turned off the car will not go into gear. While driving I can stop at a stop
sign or red light turn off the car put it into gear and crank it up again. It will not shift into
gear normally.

Is an automatic? First thing I would check is the transmission fluid level..http://www.wikihow.com/Check-and-Add-Fluid-to-Your-Automatic- Transmission

It's a 5 speed manual transmission

cable or hydraulic could be cable or leaking fluid
