Why is the button on my shifter stuck?!

My shifter button is stuck and now my car thinks that I'm in
driving mode, so I can't even take my keys out of the
ignition. Please help!

sounds like the shifter cable has a problem. If you have had play in the shifter in the past could be a bad bushing. Check the linkage to the tranny from the shifter cable.
