Im looking in buying a 2003 ford explorer with 130,000 miles.. Should i be concerned about this many miles?
as long as maintance has been keep up,you should be ok..
My 02 has just over 150,000 and is still running strong. Always did synthetic oil changes at 10,000 miles and have never had a problem. The wheel bearings have been the only major issue with this truck since I've owned it. The only other thing I would be VERY sure about is to make sure the transmission is in good condition. Make sure you take a good test drive and pay attention to any signs of noise or slippage. Also make sure the 4 x 4 system is engaging properly if it's a 4 wheel drive. Engine wise, both the 4.6 liter V-8 like I have in my Limited and the 4.0 liter V-6 are bullet proof and can easily exceed 200,000 miles.
