why is my fuel pump not working properly?

Asked by Apr 08, 2015 at 12:04 AM about the 1985 Mercury Capri

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

85 Mercury Capri. Having problems
with fuel pump not working. The red
power wire has current to the pump
from the relay. The yellow one has
power at the relay but when I prove it
from the pump it pulses. I grounded
the brown wire already. The pump
works sometimes when I turn the
ignition and the car runs fine but
suddenly turns off. Can anyone help
me get my pump working properly?

1 Answer

Sounds like the pumps all done, possible bad contact at motor.
