Because it's old and need to be replaced!!! Oh Lawd! You need a car upgrade, like now!! KA-Pow!! Give up that old junker cause it's blowing serious boners! Get rid of it ASAP!! UGH! Trade this POS car in, Bubba!! Time for a brand new start!! Room-A-Zoom-Zoom, baby!! Summer Sales are still Sizzlin' HOT and you could be stylin' & profilin' in a new ride with fries on the side!! You can do this!

Seal could be bad, torque converter could have a groove worn in the part that the seal surface contacts. Seal could have been installed incorrectly. Is this an ongoing issue or a new problem?

Along with the seal issue there is a bushing behind the seal in the pump. Must have a lot of miles on it, and if the vehicle is worth saving, you got yourself a krusin classic.
