FIRST THE DIFFERENCE IN THE HARD SHIFTING IN PART WHEN COLD THE MOTOR IS IDLING FASTER WHEN COLD MAKING THE EFFECT OF ENGAGING FELT MORE SEVERE THAN WHEN THE MOTOR WHEN WARM IS IDLING AT A MUCH LOWER RPM. SECOND IN MY EXPERIENCE WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM, THE CAUSE WAS THE MOTOR MOUNTS. BROKEN MOTOR MOUNTS CAUSE THE ENGING TO MOVE WHEN THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES. THIS IS MORE OBVIOUS WHEN FIRST PLACED IN GEAR THEN WHEN MOVING AND NORMAL CHANGING GEARS. SUGGEST CHECKING THE MOTOR MOUNTS FIRST BEFORE DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION WHICH MAY NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM AT ALL. GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK, STEPHEN MEREDITH
