Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have located an 8" rear end that has been sitting
in a barn for 20yrs it won't turn  and the guy is
asking 100.00 for it .Is it worth buying or do you
think all the gears would be pitted and rusted
making it not worth the effort

If it won't turn then it's just scrap, oh you might be able to salvage the housing but everything else would have to be replaced, but if your going to make up one that's going to last that is what you should do anyway, unless your looking for a plug and play differential. Those are going to cost you some to find all setup and ready to go.
