I'm gonna say no. Beginning 1971 cars became required to be equipped with the evaporative loss system (1970 in California). The purpose of this system is to capture gas fumes & burn them with the air/fuel mixture instead of being released into the air. HTH. -Jim

I will confirm that the cap on these cars is not vented because of the evaporative system.
