my 2004 ford explorer has been sitting and not driven for a month due to illness. Now it will not start but the theft light is flashing. Battery is new. Please advise.
Are you using the original master key, or a valet key?
since the battery was completely dead now the antitheft system has to be reset im not sure how to go about it on 2004 but go to a ford forum you will find your answer there
Try another key. Also sometimes cell phones can effect the PATS system. Make sure you don't have a cell phone in you pocket and try again.
