Edit I was taking the nut off of the bolt and the bolt snapped the NUT is still on the bolt just no longer attached to the car
Right in the center at the tip where it's threaded that's where I snapped it what do it do?
Ugh, that sucks. Your probably going to have to replace the center shaft and or steering column at this point if you can source one, or remove the shaft and have a good welder weld and new threaded 'tip' on.
Dang that's really disappointing I wouldn't wanna pay for a new steering column of course I mean is welding really and option could it work?
I'm not an expert on the matter, so I would suggest you find a local shop in your area that works on vintage cars and ask them. I'm not sure on the safety issue of how it would bolt up if you did weld it. Talk to them and get some more options. Good Luck!
Thank you my good man for the advice I'm at a loss right now because it's my first old car I knew it was gonna be a project and corvairs are just unique in general so it's gonna be a learning experience but I apprieciate the help!
