what is the drawer in the dash for?

Question type: General

The drawer slide out has a plug in the right rear of the void space the holds the drawer.  What was this for?

Sounds perhaps like either a plug for a cigarette lighter that was not included in the options, or a clean-out or punch-out of some sort used by the factory for assembly.
