gmc ignition failure

Asked by Oct 27, 2016 at 07:12 PM about the 1994 GMC Sierra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was driving down the road and my 1994 GMC
Sierra truck just died. Lost all power. I found a
broken ground strap from the cab to the frame. I
replaced it but still have nothing, not even a dome
light or headlights. I looked at the fus box but
found no blown fuses. I've been a backyard
mechanic for many years . l don't see any fuseable
links or anything. I'm at a loss. If the starter
solenoid burnt out from the strap breaking , would I
still have no power anywhere at all? Or can it be the
ignition switch? Please help asap. I'm traveling .
thank you.
