Will a set of R16 tires fit on a GMC Sierra two wheel drive that calls for R15

Measure the over-all tire higth, they should be about the same, like 28- 30". Bigger rims doesn't mean taller tires. Just the tire sidewall aspect changes. (15's, use 55's), (16's use 45's), (17's use 40's), (18's use 35's). see? And check for tie rod steering clearence & rubbing in full lock turns. Wider tires sometimes use wheel spacers. Discount Tire Co. is good with optional plus sizes. sport trucks now have optional 19-21" wheels!
