Acura Tl won't start.
When I stopped at a red light my car started to
smoke from under the hood and started making a
ticking sound. I pulled over to a gas station, then
the smoke started to go away, but to ticking and
knocking stood, so I turned off my car. When I tried
starting it again, it didn't want to start. The car
turned on along with the lights, radio, etc. But the
ignition wouldn't start, id have to give it gas just so
for to start, but it'll turn on soon after. For the few
seconds I got it to start, it'll knock, and I'll put it into
drive, but it'll just go back (because I was on a hill, I
think). About a week or two before a service
engine light was on saying b2, I think? Does
anyone know what's wrong?
Depending on what caused the smoke it could have been from coolant or oil or both. Any lights on the dash lit up? Like for oil pressure or coolant. If coolant, your electrical components got wet and the car is too hot and that's why it won't run right. If oil, then the engine is also hot and you have a more serious problem. Don't continue to drive the car, call roadside assistance or AAA and have the car towed to a garage for diagnosis and repair.
That morning the battery was dead so I jumped it, and went AutoZone. I got the battery checked and they said it was perfectly fine, but he saw blue stuff splattered and leaking everywhere, and found out it was my coolant reservoir cap. Could that be the problem?
Absolutely, as the cooling system is supposed to be pressurized. Refill with the proper coolant and replace the cap. then check every day to make sure the coolant level stays at the proper level and add as necessary once the engine cools down.
You don't think the motor blew? Everyone I know days that can be it, but they're not really I to cars to much.
