Check engine light
I have a 2008 Honda civic.. my a/c hasn't worked
since I purchased the car 5 years ago but never got
it fixed - it just blows hot air when turned on. I read
some things that It could be a relay switch problem
, so I tried switching the a/c switch with an
identical one to see if that was the problem and
then switched them back to the original spots.
When I turned my car back on my check engine
light is now on. Please help! I don't want to take to
a dealership and pay an arm and a leg for a
possible minor fix.
You don't need to take it to a dealer. The A/C issue was probably just that the system has been low on refrigerant and it had a leak. So take it to an independent garage near you that your friends recommend and have them perform an A/C recharge, that also will look for leaks and replace any parts. They can also determine why the check engine light is still on. Might be just because you replaced the reply and all they need to do is clear the code? hard to say with out the 4 digit code. Good Luck!
