RPMs revving when in park

Just recently started having an issue with my 2005 Ford Freestyle.  Sporatically, for no common cause that I've yet identified, when I put in park, the engine will race and RPMs will be ~2000.  I've tapped the accelerator but no change.  This has happend even after the car has been running for a few hours so can't be related to cold engine.  Any clues?

I would look for a vacuum leak or a leak in the hose from the air box to the manifold. I had a dodge neon that I got the hose all screwed up.back from the dodge garage that did the same thing and they had the hose all screwed up.

My 05 Ford freestyle has issues when I started impark and floor it to the floor and won't go over to Grand on the RPMs what am I going to do
