Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my car at times will stop giving power to the wheels to push car. out of nowhere foot on gas the power will cut and come back shortly but while power is out engine is idling with my foot on gas then power comes back and gives a small kick depending on how far foot is on peddle. maybe a poorly stated question I am sorry I don't know much about cars.

Yeah, not really clear what you are describing. If you press the gas pedal and the engine bogs, it's likely temporary loss of fuel pressure (check accelerator pump on carb), or timing. If engine response is good but no immediate acceleration, can be torque converter or clutch, or transmission. You'll have to pinpoint just what it's doing.
