I have a 1966 Chevy ll Nova 4 barrel,350/355hp-350 auto/ shift-kit / 3500 stall . Car
running along 65mph and dies . Tries to restart it , It turned over but wouldn't start. Days
before had changed . 1.distributor 2.dstributor cap 3.rotor 4.coil 5.plugs 6.wires 7.starter
8. Alt 9.water pump 10.belt 11.hoses 12. Fuel pump 13. Fuel filters x2 . Was starting on

Did you fill-up recently? Could be vapor-lock. See also


You need to find out if it is fuel spark related, pull off the coil tower wire and see if it is throwing a good spark, if it is then put a little fuel in the carb and see if it fires up. Then you will know where to go next. I have 2 suspicions, 1 is the distributor points may have closed up, so no or very little spark, 2 the fuel pump is bad, when it get hot it quits working.


I have HEi distriburtor


That just involves a little more electronics, still find out if it is spark or fuel related. HEI just makes it more complex in the testing for spark, and if you get too close to the towers when testing it hurts more.
