2022 Lexus RX Hybrid Overview

The Lexus RX is one of the most popular luxury SUVs on the road today—so much so that the RX line has grown to include the hybrid 2022 Lexus RX 450h and three-row RX 450h L. These SUVs deliver superior comfort as well as the fuel-saving benefits of a hybrid drivetrain. The RX hybrid provides up to 32.6 cubic feet of cargo space, while the extended RX L hybrid offers up to 58.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The RX hybrid carries over into the 2022 model year largely unchanged.

The RX 450h comes standard with synthetic leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, 10-way power-adjustable front seats, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa. Buyers can select from a number of packages, including the Premium Package and the Luxury Package. The former adds bamboo or walnut interior trim, while the latter adds a wood-trimmed heated steering wheel and premium leather upholstery.

Buyers can also opt for a racier version of the RX hybrid, dubbed the RX450h F Sport. It adds unique styling cues, sport front bucket seats, and a performance suspension.

The three-row RX 450h L provides seating for six thanks to its second-row captains chairs. Other features include a power-folding third row, second-row USB ports, and tri-zone climate control.

The RX 450h features a 3.5-liter V6 engine combined with three electric motors to create a hybrid all-wheel-drive setup. The system makes a total of 308 horsepower. Power is routed from the engine via a continuously variable transmission. Fuel economy numbers for the 2022 Lexus RX 450h are 31 mpg city, 28 highway, and 30 combined. The RX 450h L returns 29 mpg city, 28 highway, 29 combined.

The RX 350h comes with a long list of standard safety features, including automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. It also comes with road sign recognition and lane-trace assist.

Base MSRP for the 2022 Lexus RX 450h is $48,020. The F Sport model starts at $51,000, and the extended RX 450h L starts at $51,410. The RX 450h is backed by a 6-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty. Hybrid components are backed by an 8-year/100,000-mile warranty.
