2020 Lexus GS 350 Overview

If you’re in the market for a midsize luxury sedan like the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CT6, or Mercedes-Benz E-Class, you might also take a look at the Lexus GS 350. It enters 2020, its eighth model year, without any notable changes.

The GS 350 sports a 3.5-liter V6 under the hood, producing 311 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) base variants get an 8-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive (AWD) ones use a 6-speed automatic. Fuel-economy estimates are 20 mpg city, 28 highway, and 23 combined with RWD and 19, 26, and 21 with AWD, both using premium-grade fuel. The flagship F Sport version is available with RWD or AWD and gets estimates of 19 mpg city, 27 highway, and 22 combined, also with premium fuel.

Standard features for the base GS 350 include 18-inch wheels, HID headlights, LED taillights, 10-way power front seats, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering column, a 12-speaker surround sound system, a 12.3-inch infotainment system, navigation, leather upholstery, and wood inlays.

The F Sport trim gets you a track-tuned suspension, 19-inch wheels, uprated brakes, a sport suspension, a premium instrument cluster and premium seats. A Mark Levinson surround sound system and a power-operated trunk are standalone options.

Like most Lexus products, the GS 350 gives you plenty of standard safety content, thanks to the Lexus Safety System+. It bundles forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. A reversing camera, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic detection are also standard. The only option is for front and rear parking sensors. The GS 350 earned good scores from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
