2017 Lexus GS 350 Overview

The Lexus GS 350 was just refreshed for 2016, so not much has changed for the 2017 model of this sporty luxury sedan. A new Smokey Granite Mica paint color replaces Nebula Gray Pearl, but the more important update is the addition of the Lexus Safety System+ as standard equipment across the GS lineup (which also includes the GS Turbo and GS 450h).

The GS 350 features a 3.5-liter V6 engine with an output of 311 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque that is paired to a 6- or 8-speed paddle-shifted automatic transmission. With rear-wheel drive (RWD), it posts a 0-to-60 time of 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 143 mph, should you find time to take it to the track. The GS 350 is also offered with all-wheel drive (AWD) for those who face wet or snowy roads.

With its wide Lexus spindle grille and low, aggressive stance, the GS 350’s exterior remains the same as last year. This is a luxury car that’s designed to be sporty, not just plush. The F Sport trim adds performance upgrades and a suspension system tuned by the LFA supercar team for a more aggressive driving experience. It still offers the choice of RWD or AWD, however, so you don’t have to sacrifice winter-weather capability for performance fun. The F Sport trim includes an adaptive variable suspension that adjusts the shock absorbers at each wheel, variable gear-ratio steering to adapt front-wheel steering angles and response, and 14-inch, 2-piece front-brake rotors with 4-piston calipers to keep brakes cool and reduce brake fade. 19-inch wheels with staggered-width tires, a unique grille, a rear valance, and a spoiler further complete the look.

The GS 350 boasts a luxurious interior, with 10-way power seats that can be upgraded to feature 18-way power adjustability, heating and ventilation, and semi-aniline leather trim. Heated mirrors, cruise control, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, and a universal garage-door opener all come standard. The infotainment system includes 12 speakers, HD Radio, Siri Eyes Free, and USB and Aux input jacks. A Navigation package adds a 12.3-inch display screen, the Lexus Enform App Suite, and Lexus Enform Destinations, while the Premium package features heated and ventilated seats, rain-sensing wipers, and a power rear sunshade. An optional 835-watt Mark Levinson Surround Sound system with 17 speakers is also available. Interior upgrades specific to the F Sport trim include more heavily bolstered seats, an ergonomic steering wheel, aluminum pedals, race-inspired instrumentation, and an optional exclusive Rioja Red leather interior.

The Lexus Safety System+ is now standard on the GS 350 and offers a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, all-speed dynamic radar cruise control, intelligent high beams, and lane-departure warning with steering assist. The Lexus Enform Safety Connect system comes with roadside assistance, an automatic emergency-notification system, and a GPS vehicle locator and is complimentary for your first year. Other safety features on the GS 350 are a 10-airbag system, a reversing camera with dynamic gridlines, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, hill-start assist, tire-pressure monitoring, Smart Stop technology, and LED headlamps and daytime running lights. The 2017 Lexus GS 350 starts at $50,365 with AWD and $50,695 with RWD, and the F Sport trim will cost $56,555 with AWD and $54,810 with RWD.
