This is a great used car. The new models are very expensive, so better to let it depreciate. It rides like a BMW and is great for 2 people. With the back seats down, lots of room for packages. One thing to know, it is a commuter or short trip car. With the extender the range is under 150 miles, so not for long trips.

Fun car to drive and contribute to a greener Earth. Price was great but commensurate to rather high mileage and poor record of the i3s bicycle tires with their poor grip of the road and proclivity for wearing thin too soon. So, one has to invest in larger wheels & tires like those in the Model S, first appearing in 2018. If you believe the future of driving is with electric power, BMW offers a reliable luxury option for city driving, but never buy any luxury car new. And you can never do too much research!

2017 BMW i3 94 Ah RWD with Range Extender Review
Jim_el says:
The BMW i3 94Ah REx is new to me, as of yesterday. I took 9 months studying e-cars and deciding, and then shopping for, the one that would best suit me. I love the fact that this new rig will eventually run on sunpower exclusively, but in the meantime will get from one charge to the next with the help of a 36 hp internal combustion engine at 35 mpg (with a gas tank just over 2 gallons, so I have to charge regularly!).

Looks/Style Ranked 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo T-bar better.
"Ive never seen a car that pleased my eye more than the 91 Toyota MR2."
Front Seats Ranked 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo T-bar better.
"Maybe (over 26 years of driving it) the 91 MR2 seat learned the shape and the patterns of me, but as I recall, the seat seemed to be home to me from the start (when I bought it in 94). Maybe the i3 new to me now will fit better as time goes on, or maybe its OK now anyway. Its not the same kind of car, after all ...."

2017 BMW i3 94 Ah RWD with Range Extender Review
Calvin says:
The exterior styling is polarizing, and you dont miss this car when you see it. It grabs your attention The acceleration is shockingly good. The EV range is great and you can get the gasoline backup for more distance. Handling is crisp and responsive, and the road feel is fairly good too. The tech in the car is super, and I find the Active Cruise Control to be a great feature. Overall the interior is modern (even IKEA like) and it has more space than youd expect from the small wheelbase.

Front Seats Ranked 2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier FWD better.
"The drivers seat in the Volt has better padding, and hugs the driver more than the i3. The BMW is made to be a city-car, so the more bench like approach makes sense, but is a little less comfortable."
Back Seats Ranked 2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier FWD worse.
"Volt has low headroom in the back seat. i3 is much taller and has loads of headroom in the front and back.Volt really cant carry 5 adults, the backseat space isnt there."

Power Ranked 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV better.
"Actually very difficult to dicern, but the Bolt felt more controlled in its power delivery."
Value Ranked 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV better.
"Not as wierd looking as the BMW and had a full suite of sound options. The i3 does not even offer FM radio, not sure why that was omitted."
