2015 Hyundai Veloster Overview

The distinctively crafted 2015 Hyundai Veloster becomes even more enticing with new, additional features for its most exceptional package. Along with an already impressive array of features, Hyundai has included automatic climate control that removes the need for constant adjustment to maintain cabin temperature as an added feature to its Tech Package.

If it’s head-turning awe you're craving, take it a step further with the Style Package, which now includes flashy 18-inch wheels for your viewing pleasure.Technology and head-turning trends are everywhere these days, and the Veloster certainly lives up to expectations.

The front-wheel-drive Veloster is a sharp-looking 3-door, 4-seat hatchback Hyundai equips with its 1.6-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. To give it a bit more response, the engine is also aspirated with a forced-air induction system. This allows it to make 138 hp and 123 lb-ft of torque in the low revs and reach highway speeds in about 9 seconds using the 6-speed manual close-ratio transmission. The manual configuration will fetch you a nice 26 mpg city/35 highway as well. Also offered is Hyundai’s EcoShift dual-clutch automatic transmission that only negligibly reduces horsepower and torque, as well as providing a slight nudge upward in fuel economy.

Hyundai’s FS platform, introduced in 2012 and on which the Veloster is sculpted, offers two feature-differentiated trims. Even so the base model comes with a wide variety of standard features, including a rear-view camera, Bluetooth connectivity, McPherson strut front suspension, independent rear suspension, daytime running lights, and similar. The limited edition Re:Flex trim, introduced in 2014, also includes upgrades such as leather seats, larger 18-inch wheels, an upgraded audio package, fog lights, LED lighting systems, special badging and an exclusive Ice Blue Pearl exterior finish not available in the base offering.

The first thing you'll notice about the Veloster is its unusual appearance, but although it resembles a small sports car, it's a lot more practical than you would imagine. There is ample cargo room for your road adventures. With the rear seats up, you are provided 15.5 cubic feet of space, but if that’s not enough, you can fold down the rear seats for an increase to 34.7 cubes.

Legroom for most drivers is comfortable, but taller drivers and rear passengers may feel a bit cramped. When you take it for a spin, you may notice a bit of lag on acceleration if you're used to peppier experiences, but that is easily overlooked. The Veloster is more of a head-turner than a tire-squealer.

The ride quality is par for its class, but a few have stated the steering feels somewhat on the numb side. The layout of the gauges is well thought out and placed with visibility in mind, and as long as you don’t mind a few hard surfaces, the interior is uniquely stylish.

For the individual looking for something different, the 2015 Veloster is worth your attention. Hyundai wraps a boldly styled, economical and fun automobile all into one package. No doubt you'll catch people’s attention as you cruise past. The countless features, conveniences, impressive value and dependability that have made Hyundai famous come together in harmony with the Veloster.

You will take pride in going out for an extended road trip or just a stop to the local market without too many visits to the gas station. Ask any Hyundai owner what they like most about their purchase, and most will tell you it’s the one-of-a-kind design and the peerless price.

Your prototypical "Tom Girl" Patricia got her start digging into Ford engines before she aged into double digits. Gifted with a mechanical mind, her favorite pass-time in the summer is picking up a fixer-up'r at the local public auction and massaging its every ailment until it's primed for a new lover. From dirt bikes to land yachts, every partner offers something truly special in her love affair with the road - just don't tell her husband.
