First Impression — i just got it so far so good. I will comment as time goes forward. I do really like the feel and look at this point. The ride is very nice. It seems to have good power. I do like all the options this model comes with. The seat settings is very nice for different individuals.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Very nice looking

Cons: shifts a little stiff

Good But Not Great... Easy Reliable Purchase . Standard Honda Fare — I would go for Acura over the touring model... fit and finish worth the extra couple grand. Honda reliability is great. road noise is greater than expected. Back seat ride is less comfortable than front. Purchase was new from Stokes in charleston SC.

Pros: Comfortable vehicle , exterior finish is nice. Great ride on long road trips. features and reliability have been great.

Cons: milage less than expected. Interior plastic needs to be improved as it scuffs easy ... I would likely buy the Acura rather than touring model if I had to do it again.

Great Family Car With Seating For 8 — We bought this car to replace our Toyota Sequoia -- we were looking for an SUV that was just a little smaller but still could seat 6 children in the back when needed, with a little room behind the third row. We've loved the Pilot so far -- comfortable seating, performance is fine. Navigation controls in the 2012 is not quite as intuitive as I'd like (dial to change destination) but it's fine.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: seating capacity, great family car

Cons: nothing yet

Dependable And Boring. — Battery system is weaker for today's gadget loads. Nice height off ground. Backup camera is very strongly suggested. It makes life so much easier in this vehicle. Good gas milage when really warmed up on the highway. More truck like ride quality.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Good for bigger people.  Few problems.

Cons: Can't charge cell phone when vehicle is off.  4x4 requires more $ for routine maintenance. Not as much space in back than you think.

Love My Pilot! — Other than poor city gas mileage I have nothing bad to say about my 2012 Pilot. I had a 2010 and the '12 is so much more refined. The engine is great, road noise is improved, the dash and cabin make you feel like you're in a much pricier vehicle. I love my Pilot, even though my wife calls me a soccer mom. The vehicle has seen quite a bit of snow/ice/slush (both backroads and highways) and the AWD has worked very well. My wife's Mexican made GMC Acadia Denali can't compare to my USA made Honda Pilot (go figure!). I would highly recommend a Pilot to anyone interested. If you want to buy mine I'll sell it to you for $100,000.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Looks, Interior, Made in the USA.

Cons: Makes tough-guy dads like me an instant Soccer Mom.

"Honda has the perception of being a longer lasting vehicle, and is likely to go to a higher max miles level. Also, Honda vehicles tend to keep their value longer than Ford. I feel that there is more reasonably usable space in the Honda Pilot vs. the Explorer"
