My Escape had great, great original tires. The Michelins got me 92,000+ before needing replacement. No real repair bill since I purchased it. 135,000+ and still runs great! I get 29 mpg on the highway. 23.5 mpg around town. Recommend! vs2005 Chevrolet Blazer

This Is Second Escape, My First One Was Totaled Out For The Rear End Crashed In To Me. — I liked the gas mileage and the convents of room in side.the engine has all the power any one needs. The V 6 engine is a 3.0 cc and I think it puts out 240 horse power. Runes very good. I run Mobil one oil and change the filter every time we change the oil. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: I like the car for the room after I put the back seats down. Cons: A little noise in back seat area when on the high way |

Great Traveling Vehicle — Can't go wrong with this vehicle, there maybe other small suv's out there but this one is great!! Just purchased it from a dealer here on cargurus and couldn't be happier. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone that does some traveling and needs room. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Great car built here in the USA. Gets me where i need to go and what i need to bring Cons: just the basic model so lack of power but will take the gas mileage over the power |

Great Vehicle If You Need A Little Room To Store And Carry Things Around. — I love the color and the way it handles. The square back enables me to place larger items in the cargo area. It gets pretty good gas mileage for the style of vehicle and has plenty of get up and go. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Handles great and maneuvers easily. Super easy to park. Cons: Haven't found any. |

The Vehicle Is Really A Great Driving And Handling Suv. The Awd Is Great In Ice And Snow. — I purchased this vehicle in January 2010 specifically to tow behind my class A motor home with all wheels on the ground. I discussed this with the sales and service managers. Both assured me that there would be no problems towing this vehicle as long as I followed the Ford TSB # 09-20-13. I was given a copy of this TSB for reference. The first trip towing the Escape was from Michigan to Florida and return. The trip went flawlessly. In May of 2010, I received a letter from Ford Customer Service (ref. # 10B15) asking that I return the vehicle to a Ford dealer for service on a potential defect to the transmission. I did as requested and the service department replaced the forward and overdrive clutches, filter and valve body. The vehicle performed perfectly after the service repair. On January 31st 2011, we again departed for Florida towing the Escape behind the motor home. I followed all the requirements of TSB 09-20-13. We traveled around Florida towing the Escape with no problems. On march 14th we departed Port St. Lucie for Ormond Beach with the Escape in tow. When we reach our destination and disconnecting the Escape from the motor home, I was not able to move the Escape as the transmission was in-operable. I had the vehicle towed to a Ford dealer wherethe service department said the transmission was burned up. Ford Motor Company covered the warranty and replaced the entire transmission, transmission cooler/AC condensor assembly (also flushed the lines.) The Escape has functioned perfectly for one week. We will be returning to Michigan on March 28 with the Escape in tow. Results of the return trip are still TBD. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Personal use. Cons: Towing behind an RV with all wheels on the ground is still TBD |

Not Bad, Body Style Getting Stale ( Time For Redesign ) — vehicle drive train two wheel / all wheel drive, unlike my 2004 which is all wheel drive / locked four wheel drive. 240 hp 3.0 v6 quite peppy. not sure i like the six speed auto trans and shifter only allows drive and low positions. i do not think i will bring this on the beach. redesigned engine intake and a lot more chrome on this car over my 2004, body style and size the same as my 2004. MAIN PROBLEM IS VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THAT DEVELOPED RESENTLY Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: nice looking over 20 mpg local driving, quick for a v6 Cons: complaints that rear window shatters--- have not had that problem--- 6 speed auto trans / 2 speed manual shift |
