Would Buy Another — I have about 30,000kms on it already it had been great so far, not as good fuel economy as my 2001 Jetta 1.9l, it's quicker acceleration wise but top end is fairly close around 195km/h. It has alot more back seat room and a larger trunk which come in handy for the kids and groceries

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fuel economy and fun to drive

Cons: Price

Jetta 2.0t — Absolutely love this car to death..its not the fastest car on the road I know that much but the 2.0T engine can hold its own easily against most cars. I traded in my 2007 Accord for this car and I have not one regret. If youre going to get a Jetta get the 2.0T engine because the 2.5 is not even close.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Its quick and looks good and the sound system is wonderful

Cons: not much at all..gas mileage could be better but its not really that bad at 29 MPG

My Tdi — I have had my Jetta for almost a year now, this being my first car that had a/c it's a real upgrade. Its nice because I can fill it up and drive for hundreds of miles and still have plenty of fuel.

Pros: 44 MPG...

Cons: not the most powerful thing in the world

Volkswagen Jetta — this car has a lot of space... so it is perfect when you have more than 2 friends and want to hang out or something... the acceleration and speed i think is average, but i prefer fastest cars. The handling is impressive, is very difficult to lose control in a car like this one.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: good handling and weight

Cons: needs a bigger engine for me

Connie - My '09 Tdi — Overall, the car is real fun to drive--performance is definitely improved with at least a dropped suspension. For the first three years or 36,000mi, you pay nothing for the car except for the modifications and car care products. So far I've had only one major problem (having had the car for 31,000 miles, it doesn't surprise me). The door locks refuse to stay locked while driving, and I'm also having a problem with my rear right door (same thing happened on my 2005.5 Jetta). Not too many people like the appearance of the car, but honestly, it really grows on you and despite its simplicity, in my opinion, it really is a real good looking car, stock or not.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Braking, (now) handling, transmission, acceleration.

Cons: Here-and-there electrical problems, acceleration (it IS great for a diesel, but could be faster).

Tdi Is The Future Of Fun — VW need to do a better job in marketing the Jetta TDI. It's not all about great gas mileage, even though 36 MPG in mixed driving is nice for commuters. It's about 236 pounds of torque in a 140 horsepower engine. It just doesn't get more fun than that

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: The most fun to drive for the money

Cons: Exterior styling is a litte too flashy with overdone chrome

Love My V-dubya! — After looking over the rest of the bunch in this class, the TDI offers the best value, and highest performance for the buck. VW touts 47mpg HWY, and 30 City. I've had it just about 30 days now, and with 1,200 miles clocked, the avg. mpg continues to improve daily from the current 33.4 (a/p the read-out). with 236Lbs Feet of Torque, she's peppy enough to keep up with traffic, and make the moves needed on the road. Highly reccomended!
