New Subaru Forester Review — Gotta love the Sumo wrestler commercial. Very high standard of quality. Not the most power, should have got the turbo model. Great mileage, huge sunroof and fun to drive.

Pros: All Wheel Drive

Cons: Not quite enough power

Time To Upgrade! — Now is the time to upgrade from previous models. This model is luxurious compared to the bare bones, functional interior of the previous models. Lots more room since the expanded the chassis by 3 inches. The new shorter gearing of the transmission carries the new, larger frame quite well. Not as fast as the '04 XT, which was legendary at it's time. But from '05 on there were small cosmetic upgrades and gutless performance compared to the '04 so it was not worth upgrading until now. This year they caught up with the performance, and it has tiptronic shifting. The handling is more SUV than car now. Very smooth ride, handles bumps well. But, it can't handle the curves quite as quickly as my old '04, which was much smaller and more stealthy. Better gas mileage than before!

Pros: Luxurious, fast, great acceleration, sporty, lots of cool new interior
features.

Cons: Drives more like an SUV than a car. Don't expect the performance of
an Impreza, even though it's got the horsepower - the center of
gravity is too high to take curves at high speeds.

Seems To Be The Perfect Model For Travelling — I am most impressed with the new features - and the price is lower than on the 2008 model. Something good is coming out of the US economical situation..........

Cons: just heard there was a problem with the engine in all XT models  !!

Bigger Package — the new Forester is not as much of a deviation from the previous model as the new Impreza, and it has grown in size to be more of a SUV and less of a car. While still not a huge gas-guzzling tank, it's not as much of an overgrown station wagon.

Pros: Quick, handles good, roomy

Cons: lack of an STI model

Comfortable Ride And Room To Carry Bikes, Dogs Or Camping Gear (or Groceries) — I liked being able to hold passengers comfortably, or carry cargo. Two bikes and some gear will fit in the back, and so will two dogs for trips to the dog park. The roof rails are great for holding different racks.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: It is roomy and comfortable. Decent power for getting on the freeway or passing. The large sunroof is nice.  Great viability.  Heated seats

Cons: It rides more cushy that the previous Forester, which has a sporty feeling to the steering and a firmer ride. Needs at least 91 octane fuel because of the turbo charger.

Safe And Reliable Lite Class Family Suv — See Pro's and Con's. I will buy another one as this is our 7th Subaru since 1994 (all had over 100K before we moved on to another one) and recommend this car to everyone who cares about their family. This car amazingly got 32 MPG when we took a round trip to Florida in 2010 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Next time your near a hospital late at night, check out what cars the doctors and nurses (my wife) are driving. I know here in the North East you'll be surprised if it doesn't look like a Subaru dealership.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Everything about it.

Cons: When you need tires you HAVE TO replace all 4 at the same time due to the electronically controlled AWD system. Services at 30K = $300, 60K = $600, $90K = $300, 120K = $600.

Comfortable And Funn To Drive Vehicle. — It has a nice design, better than the new ones. Very good visibility. Good handling. Very very comfortable ride. Sport shift gives it a great sport like feel. Leather interior feels clean and warm seats makes you feel like u don't want to leave the car especially on cold mornings. Lots of interior room. And you got to love the sunroof.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: All around vehicle

Cons: MPG not so good, but it's an AWD vehicle with the price of a regular one that gives you a safer handling everywhere at any time .
