Identical to its less-powerful sibling except for the powertrain, the 2009 Hyundai Sonata V6 gives you more confidence when accelerating on the highway thanks to its 24-valve, 249-hp, 3.3-liter V6. Matched with a 5-speed shiftable automatic transmission, it offers 229 ft-lbs of torque. The front-wheel-drive sedan rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires. Handling chores are covered by the double wishbone front and multilink rear suspension.
With 43 inches of legroom up front, 37 in the back, and 16.3 cubic feet of storage space in the trunk, this midsize sedan is very roomy and comfortable. Adding to the comfort factor are leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power driver's seat, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, and a 6-CD changer with satellite radio (three months free)and MP3 input jack. Other standard features include power windows, locks, and heated mirrors, wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls, a trip computer, temperature and compass readout, intermittent wipers, four cupholders, two 12V power outlets, and a garage opener. There are plenty of compartments and storage pockets, and the rear seats split-fold 60/40.
The 2009 Sonata Limited V6 maintains its high safety reputation by offering standard 4-wheel ABS brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, dual front-side and side curtain airbags for both rows, and a front-row passenger deactivation sensor, traction and stability control, and a tire monitor. At night, drivers will be pleased with automatic headlights, halogen lamps, foglights, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. A new option for 2009 is a touchscreen navigation system. This joins Bluetooth, a sunroof wind deflector, a cargo tray and net, and mudguards on the options list.
