2008 Chevy Cobalt Ss Turbocharged Brief Review. — It is a car that truly surprises even the most skeptical people. It has the best acceleration and handling in its class, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, quarter mile in 14.0 seconds, suspension tuned on Germany's Nurburgring. With Launch Control (only car in its price range that has it) and a "No-Lift Shift" feature, its a true track car from the factory. 260 hp and 260 lb/ft of torque available from 2000 rpm. Relatively cheap car, under 30,000 canadian, and with a 2.0L Turbocharged Direct injected engine, it doesnt get bad mileage either. Amazingly fun to drive.

Pros: Powerful, Amazing handling, Great Brakes, and Under 30,000 Great fun for you buck.

Cons: Pretty much the same styling as the old Cobalt SS, in need of an upgrade.

Great Car For What It Is — the cobalt ss is a great car. even stock. the biggest issue is the stock brakes are terrible. i replaced them with hawk pads and r1 concept rotors and steel brake lines. Shifting is as good as it gets rivaling a acura integra. The dealer messed up the gms1 tune by installing the wrong o-rings on the Tmap sensors which made the car run poorly. All in all a great car with tons of features like the RPD which is a blast to use due to the multifunction capability. only bad thing is cheap build quality with plastic everywhere.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: engine is fantastic shifts fantastic handling is good for fwd

Cons: stock brakes terrible , gms1 tune was done wrong

Perfect Fun Car — i love the acceleration in the car, braking is perfect, feels safe around corners, very fun car to drive, handling is superb, it is a fast car, has an Ecotech engine 2.0 engine, which is Chevrolet's economical engine for Chevrolet Cobalt's, but it is also a quick engine as well, everywhere i go, heads turn, it is very unique for a Cobalt Ls

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: perfect handing, sleek, unique customization for a cobalt ls, very comfortable to drive

Cons: There's nothing bad to say about my Cobalt Ls Coupe

Fastest, Best Handling, Practical, And Affordable Car Out There. —

I bought a stage one yesterday! I am loving it. I am a little scared something might go, but am going to try to not rod it too much, just here and there for fun and to get the feel, or when some boys in "fast cars" need to be shown. The seats are comfortable, although I wish they had more leather than mesh, and the interior is a joke for quality. My 01 Hyundai Tiburon seems to have better feeling interior quality. The first time I felt the turbo spool up and release all that power I was hooked. The supercharged versions were fun, but this is a whole new level especially how they fixed the wheel hop issues and tightened the suspension even more. I absolutely love the car. Canada sucks though (Alberta specifically), and I am not allowed to have tinted front windows, but it looks gorgeous with the black colour of the car!!! Just amazing, custom headlights HIDs as well, custom tailights that resemble the nissan gtr, and this thing is a head turner. Customed exhaust as well sounds great with the turbo. Just loving this freaking car right now. Fingers crossed something does not go wrong with it. And its been getting 9 litre per 100 k when driven nice, not too bad for the power its packing. Good on Chevy for the performance, bad on Chevy for the crap interior quality and no redesign when it was overdue after the first year!!! onto one month now. holding up great. underrated for capabilities, by many, broke the plastic pull out drawer by wheel needs an armrest, and suspension squeaks when freezing temps out. need a track to get to to fully appreciate the car!!!!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Stage 1 is stupid fast. Decent mileage for eating other cars that are meant to be fast.

Cons: Ugly cheap interior, exterior could have used a couple revamps to make it look better.

Quick Little Car — Fast,Good Front Brakes and handles very well.Spin the front tires no problem.Rear brakes are noisey.Very nice car and fun to drive aggressively.great looking car.one other thing,if you want snow tires you have to buy aftermarket aluminum rims because of the front brakes(steel wheels hit calipers).

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: power,handling

Cons: rear brakes

You Should Try One. — Cobalt SS weighs in at 2950lbs. at 275 horses=a 10.7 to 1 power to weight ratio. This is 184 hp per ton. It was built around the Ecotec 2.0 Liter engine, with an R&D runup to production of ten years. Developed to take on the foreign "Tuner" market, it lands squarely on its feet with a lightweight powertrain built to last. It beat the competition on the first real trial in the Time Attack racing championship in 2005/06. It has front wheel drive, yet powered to a record for this at Nurburgring. A very reliable fun car, with cool styling, On Star, XM Radio with MP3. 100k mile warranty on drivetrain. BREMBO brakes, and my added intake, and sway bar refinements.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great gas mileage-30 on highway!

Cons: too much fun if you have a pacemaker.

Back Seats Ranked 2009 Pontiac G5 Base better.
"They are honestly the same, but I rate Pontiac better because they have a better design versus PLAID Stitching. They have a cool triangular pattern in their cars."
Family Car Ranked 2009 Pontiac G5 Base better.
"You hear car, and what comes to mind? Its not 2 tons of glass rubber and metal. CAR the reason you got your license in the first place. The way you FELT about your first car. It makes a kid pick up a crayon. Car is PASSION, EMOTION, and even a little VANITY. Because unlike other Vehicles, Car is all about YOU, an extension of yourself. You want to impress your kids while having an economical vehicle that is EASY to own and Maintain? Buy a Pontiac. They are the same as the Chevys you buy."
