I Love It! — Fast! Fun! Quality! Exclusivity! All wrapped up in a WAGON! Love the interior touches: cool red and blue lights, pull up sun shades for back windows, FAST turbo engine, great gas mileage, room for 5. I could go on and on about how much fun it is to drive. While I don't use the shift paddles on the steering wheel or the Tiptronic too much, I love dropping the automatic into SPORT mode and punching it---throws you in the back into your seat and surprises those around you who only see a station wagon. A wolf in sheeps clothing

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Not everyone has one.  Gas mileage, good looks, comfort

Cons: Wish it were a little quieter and wish the automatic lift gate could be closed without having to press the button on the hatch.  Depreciation

Does Everything It Says On The Tin! — Performance - being a diesel it's quite brisk, especially mid range with ample acceleration in 3rd and 4th likewise cruizing in top gear (6th) along a motorway stretch. The brakes are sharp with good feel/response. Being a basic spec, handling is comfortable and responsive with some body roll on the softer non sport spring and dampers. Grip is lacking from the front end on the cheap tires at the moment, b ut I guess this would improve with a better brand tyre! The front seats are my biggest disappointment. They lack support and if cornering with 'gusto', you feel as though you are slipping out of the side. Although it has normal forward/backward and height adjustment including a good lumber adjustment/support, there is no tilt adjustment to give you a more 'planted/secure feel to the driving position which otherwise is excellent. Build quality seems to be typical VAG. Although I have noticed a rattle every now and again from the dashboard on the passenger side. Love the styling interior and out! It's neither shouting out or bland..... It's functional with a little sophisticated style. On short journey's around town I get about 600 miles from the tank. If doing long distance I am returning closer to 790 miles a tank which I thought was quite good! Never thought of the Passat (2.0TDI) as having a 'fun factor' but rather as a comfy cruizer that can pull it's weight if one needs to get a move on taking the roads in it's stride. It's certainly not a sports car, but a reliable family or exec car that is totally dependable! If I wanted a sports car, I'd have bought one!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Economical, comfortable and most dependable car!

Cons: Don't get the 'bog' standard trim..... spec up!

Sexy Wagon — The Germans make wagons look and drive cool. Don't know why most people go for clunky SUVs where they can get the same "volume" in a cool wagon that runs circles around them and gets better mileage. Beside, everyone else has a large, clunky SUV. I wanted to be a little different. This car says "me".

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Perfect size

    Cons: Great features

Station Wagons Are Great, And Practicle And This One Is A Lot Of Fun To Drive. — This a drivers vehicle. It does cost a little more than you so called big three autos, but it is much better purchase in the long run. the turbo engine is more than enough power than you will ever need and it seems to be perfect at 80mph on the expressways here in chicago. i have a station wagon and it is fantastic. i get great fuel economy and i also have more storage space then any other station wagon that is on the market. 30+mpg on the highway going long distance beats the heck out of 18mpg with a tahoe.

Pros: Because i want quailty, storage and a fun to drive car.

Cons: Because you think you really need that SUV.

Good - If You Think About It — me like: spacious, comfortable, very well built, handling me not like: image referred to other germans like audi, BMW, price options, exterior design a bit dull for? people who rationally buy a car: good economy, good reselling value, built to last not for? people who want a sportscar, kick on italian design and need a high image car to confirm their identity

    Pros: building quality, price/quality/space, driving

Cons: dull exterior design, lacks image

Fox Car — Car does what I need it to do but the colour is not what I ordered. VW UK not interested in helping me out. What a load of C#*P. On the positive it has a huge boot to fit all the kids in. Leather seats are great and the I-pod attachment works better than the Audi.

Pros: Good on fuel and has heeted seats to keep my old ass warm.

    Cons: Not an Audi.

Best Buy For Its Category — Build Quality, Luxury, fully equiped, appearance is very nice both interior and exterior, Performance is fair for the edition 1.4 TSI is faster than any other 1.6 and 1.8 engine limousine car. I am lucky that my company offers me this, since I do not have to pay anything, it is under and operating lease.

    Pros: performance, looks, equipment

Cons: is not as fast as my previous cars

Great Great Car — My wife and I are expecting our first baby so we decided it was time to trade in the little sports car for something more family oriented. We were looking for either a small SUV or a family car. After driving the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Acura RDX, we decided not to go with the small SUV. While they have the space we want, the handling is just not there and they drink gas like Uncle Charlie downs Bourbon. We then went to VW, intending to look at the Jetta. But this candy white Passat Wagon in the show room caught my eyes. It looks good from the outside, the interior is first rate, and the cargo space is amazing. From the looks of it, this is the perfect car for somebody looking for the space without having to fuel up every other day. I still wasn't convinced though, with the stereotype associated with wagons floating through my head. So we took it out for a drive. MAN! If I was lead into the driver seat blind folded, I would've never guessed I was driving a station wagon. The 2.0T engine is just so smooth and willing. I don't know why car magazines keep raving about Honda's high rev engines. With a Honda you have to drive it like it's stolen to get the juices out. With this power plant, everything is effortless. The fat torque curve makes passing or climbing uphill a breeze. Braking is good too, with good paddle feel and the tires gripping well even in wet weather. The handling is awesome - first ride without being harsh, and the car takes corners well for something this size. Also, being in the era of high fuel prices that we live in, this car provides V6 performance with I4 fuel economy. The interior looks like something out of a way more expensive car. The material is first rate, the touches are delightful, the driver seat moves in every direction you can think of, the steering wheel is telescopic, the stereo sounds great, and the aux in in the centre console plays music from my iPod with crystal clear sound. (by the way, just TRY the Honda Accord stereo. It sounds like a cheap clock radio compared to this). I was sold! The car drives great, looks great, the interior is super comfy, and it has all the cargo room I will ever need. And it has the stealth factor that I like in my car. Just earlier today at a red light, this little Civic was revving his engine like he's the king of the world. He probably thought I was driving some grandpa wagon. You should've seen the look on his face when I totally smoked him~~~

Pros: Power, looks, interior quality, gas milage

    Cons: Can't think of any

Passat 1.9 Tdi 105 Bhp — Perfomance: I got the 1.9 diesel motor with 105 BHP and it's just a little less for this car. Build Quality is very good no issues there Appearance, although I love the Audi interior more this is quite OK, the exterior is quite nice. Gas Mileage is ok but I guess there are cars who can do better. The car is not a car with a high fun factor it's to big for that :)

Pros: Big car even for tall people.

Cons: Motor could use some extra punch.
