My Car — It's a basic car, but it has some nice features...remote start is my absolute favorite feature! Wish it had a sunroof, but oh well! It is pretty fun to drive and I feel it is a safe car to transport my baby daughter in.

Pros: Remote start

Cons: No sunroof

Would Be Great If It Only Didn't Have To Turn... —

The Pontiac Grand Prix is no longer being made and is being replaced by the Australian Holden Commodore named the G8. Its fairly large for a car of its price but that price does sacrifice a few things. The 3.8L V6 this car got from Buick is very good, there is no denying that this V6 is probably enough power this car will need making me think the V8 and supercharged V6...excessive. Straight line power is where this car shines. Handling...this is where I think this car flops on. You have a lot of power going to the front wheels moving a heavy vehicle but GM just didn't design a good enough suspension to make this car corner well thus wasting a lot of the engine's power. The G8 should be significantly better being RWD and thus more balanced. The interior...I've never been very comfortable in the seats. They're oddly shaped and I always have to constantly adjust. The rest of the interior isn't exactly terrible, but you just can't say its nice looking since its just pure dark plastic. The wheel is gigantic, it just doesn't need to be this big. It is well equipped for a base car. Built quality is actually quite good for a GM car. To own a Grand Prix...if you bought it new you might not wish to sell it because it depreciates very badly. Great news if you want to buy one used. The large V6 is not fuel efficient along with the heavy body. Its size is good if you want to carry 5 passengers relatively comfortably and need a large trunk. This isn't the greatest looking Grand Prix amongst the whole line. The 2-door from the 80s was clearly the best looking. This car does look aggressive and the powertrain will convince you of this...but without that its largely forgettable.

Pros: Low value makes it cheap to buy used, great engine

Cons: Bad handling, unwelcoming interior, car replacing it is superior

Fast, Stylish, And Fun To Drive — Acceleration is good torque is unbelivable at the front wheels. PBR brakes have good braking and the stock exhaust sounds bettrer than a stock Vette (not Z06 though) over sixe spoiler with the bid forged wheels and cross drilled rotors and the bigger front facia. It is really fun to drive with the tap shift mode.

Pros: Looks power and comfort

Cons: When you first start it the brakes pulsate

Grand Prix Gxp — Love this car... Extremely fast, and agile. People are embarassed when they realize they got beat by a "family" sedan. Interior is too "plasticy" but it looks nice. Mine came fully loaded, with nav, sat, and monsoon sound. The mileage is around 18 city with me driving like the cops are after me. Had it at 135 so far and it felt as solid as my old impala did at 50. Really smooth ride too. Have some aftermarket items, will be getting some more in the spring of '09 when I get back from Iraq

Pros: Performance is great, looks great, "stock" sleeper, Really FAST!!!

Cons: Burns tires even with traction control on... t/c should make it pure excelleration when i punch it.  :)

Good Car — This is a good car, but not my type that I would drive. I would recommend this to many people, I just would not drive it. It is very comfy and easy to drive.

Pros: easy to drive, comfy, lots of space

Cons: not the nicest looking car

Great Car, Good Gas Mileage! Can't Beat The Looks Or Price. — I needed a 4 door car for commuting and taking the family out occasionally... This car is perfect. It is looks great and runs strong with good MPG. Currently averaging 26MPG. The price was very reasonable even with the sunroof and monsoon 6 cd changer.. Motor is powerfull enough to light up the tires from stand still. I've read reviews that say it is underpowered, I disagree.. I'm a person who will only buy from an American owned car company. (I know it was built in Canada.)So far very pleased.

Owner for 0 years, 3 months

Miles Driven per Year:15,000

Pros: Good looks, Good MPG... Low price! American Company!

Cons: Dash is a little plain & does not have auto dimming rearview mirror.

Overall, I Think This Car Is Awesome. — This is the first Grand Prix I have owned. I have only owned this car for one month. I bought this car used. It has a couple of issues that need repaired. I only hope the repairs are not expensive.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: I love the car. It is stylish and very comfortable. I had a 1999 Grand Am before I bought this one, and I swear the interior space is so much bigger in the Grand Prix. Trunk size is huge too compared to the Grand Am.

Cons: I bought this car used so it has issues I'm going to have to fix. I have two alert lights that come on... Monitor Tire System and Reduced Engine Power. Other than that I don't have any issues with the car.

"Personally, I’ve been saddened by the closure of Pontiac. I feel they made great cars that lasted. One can hope GM revives more lines of cars from the satellite brands they had before they downsized."
