    Almost Perfect! —

I purchased my 2008 3.5 SE Altima almost a month ago, and now with around 4200 Km on the odo, this is my opinion about it: Engine/Trans: This car is a true performance machine, and every time I accelerate it hard, it makes me smile. The engine is working in full harmony with the CVT engine to deliever immediate power once needed. I have to mention, though, that CVT takes some time to get used to. It is not a regular auto transmission; it works in a different way and gives a strange feeling at first. Fuel consumption is also average, not bad for a performance sedan. Design: I can say nothing less than HOT! It turns heads wherever I go! New Accord (my second option when I was in the market for a new car) looks very ugly in comparison. Interior: Nissan almost did a good job dealing with their usual problem of making cheap interiors. The dashboard design is much better than previous generation. All control buttons are in the right place. I love the Bluetooth feature. Interior space is very good in front and back. Now to things I don’t like: 1.The new Altima is just released in Saudi Arabia (as 2008 model), and 6 cylinder model stock was very low, color options was very limited based on the available stock. Nissan: when you release a new model, please make sure to supply the dealers with enough stock and make all colors/combinations available. 2.I am hearing some noise from the right side of the center console when driving on any less-than-perfect roads, and I heard from some other owners that this a common problem in the new Altima dashboard! Nissan needs to work a fix ASAP! 3.This one is serious: my car had a front axis alignment problem (car tends to steer to the right) from day 1. It took the dealer 2 days to fix it. This is clearly an assembly problem from USA factory. This car is almost perfect and it could have been the leader in its segment except for a few quality flaws. I love it and I have no regrets at all. My last words to Nissan: you are on the right path, but you need to focus more on quality (hint: take Honda Accord as a model and apply its high quality standards).

    Why I Semi-love This Car —

I bought this car about a month ago (BRAND NEW), and comparing to my old 2003 Toyota Corolla, it is no doubt,a lovely car. The v-6 makes passing cars and going up the hill a breeze. The interior of the car is not all that impressive, but it's still a big improvement from the 2006 version of the altima. i have the 3.5 SE with the sports package so i get: moon roof/spoiler and fog light. they say that 3.5 SE has a sports suspension which i find very annoying and i think that it messes up the balance of the car. when you look at this car, you don't automatically think of speed and racing. i wanted more of comfortable ride rather then stiff, bouncy ride. there are few noises made by the vehicle that drives me insane sometimes. first there is the sound that come from the side door panels in the front driver and passanger seat. put your leg against it, and it will make a rather loud squick sound. the rear suspension also makes a squick sound going over a bump. the air conditioning noise is unbearable. the car is super quiet when the a/c is off but when you turn it on, you can really hear it inside and outside the car.

Pros: smooth CVT v-6, design of the car, turning signal light on side view mirrors. things that come with the sports package.

Cons: excessive noise from the vehicle. stiff ride that doesnt match the car's smooth ride.

Nicest Car I've Ever Driven! — Build Quality: I've had it for over a year, and the only issue was with a tire sensor whose battery went out. Performance: I've taken this car everywhere, including the Mass Pike in Boston, and have not felt afraid to do so. Appearance: Let's just say that I still love to look out my living room window to gawk at it! Cost of Ownership: Very low maintenance. Gas mileage gets skewed because I do a lot of city driving. Fun Factor: See review for performance.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: A fun car to drive with many luxury amenities at a very low pricce

    Cons: Nothing!

It's The Biggest And Nicest Car I've Ever Driven — This is one car that really tears up the highway. It just blow by all the other cars. It handles and breaks great, Have had it for 5 months, with no repairs yet. I like the color-coded trim (in my case, all brown) The gadgets on the dash are easy to find and operate. It is an easy and fun car to drive.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Lots of features at a low price

Cons: Doors are too big, seat belts are hard to reach, windshields slope, making them hard to clean.  TPMS is very winter sensitive.  I've had to reset it twice in the past 1-1/2 months
