A Good Car — Good acceleration for a four cylinder engine, good braking, handles like a compact sedan, side mirrors seemed to be misplaced. Plastics feel cheap, hood release broke after three months. Large amount of trunk space, headlight bulbs were a pain to change. No fold in mirrors...?

Pros: Brakes, Engine, Trunk Space

Cons: Mirrors, Build Quality (Body), Interior Plastics

My Wife Is Crazy About It Over Her '99 Maxima — It has every bell and whistle we wanted. The silver blue color is perfect. Bigger and roomier than the '99 Maxima (I inherited), yet is shorter in length.

Owner for 0 years, 1 months

Miles Driven per Year:5,000

Pros: The price, the quality, the airbag safety, the price.

Cons: Can't find oil capacity in the owner's manual.  Also nothing about the
timing belt maintenance.

A Good Value — We really like our Sonata. It has been totally reliable and still looks great after 40000 miles. The gas mileage is very good, being near 30mpg. It handles the road quite well. The Sonata fufills it's mission in life very well. It is a competent family hauler that will last as long as you want it to. My wife has worn out the tires in 30000 miles, but other than that, it has required nothing but oil changes. We had a 2007 Elantra also with manual transmission and both had no clutch pedal feel and much too light of pressure is required for the throttle pedal. We find ourselves regularly killing the engine when moving from a dead stop.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The room inside

Cons: The throttle pressure (too light) and clutch engagement/feel

Very well balanced. Absolutely silent. pretty powerful with a great stretched second gear. Handles well but leans drastically on sharp turns. very insulated. the trunk space is excessive. Also, the seats themselves are comfortable and spaced out.

Back Seats Ranked 2008 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD worse.
"The back seats in the Hyundai are very wide and leave plenty of space for more storage or an extra person."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2008 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT FWD worse.
"The Hyundai can fit 5 tires in the trunk including the spare tire. Also, if you put the seats down, an extra bicycle will fit in with ease."
