Versatility Is It's Name — When it's fun: The Civic Si is a blast on the interstate or on a winding road. The 197hp engine and sport tuned suspension handle with confidence when driving 100mph+ or carving out the corners on a back road. Four doors mean you can bring your friends along for the ride. It is easy to scare the pants off of everyone while remaining confidently in control. The easiest way to accomplish this is to take the interstate onramp as quickly as possible or drive double the speed limit on any road. It is great fun to test the limits on the Civic Si. This thing is a beast. When it isn't fun: The highly tuned engine and sport suspension are terrible in the Antioch area where I live. Here, the roads are very rough. Pair that with a stiff suspension and you have one unenjoyhable ride. Also, a certain demographic always drives 30mph on any road. You know who i'm talking about, their population has exploded in the past few years and they all drive trucks. This is maddening to be stuck behind with while jetting from place to place. Also, the traffic is very congested so you will be driving slowly most of the time no matter what.

Pros: quick, nimble, strong brakes, reliable

Cons: rough ride, premium gas only, manual transmission gets tiresome quickly in heavy traffic

Si Review — Its a car that would want to make you jump in everytime and just drive at any distance no matter what. its economical friendly, yet you have your key performances that havent left the civic completely for all you motorsport enthusiasts. you still have the 2.0 liter i-VTEC 197hp engine that kicks in around a 4000rpm mark. sadly, you actually get around 172.9 hp and 121.3 ft lbs of torque. Even though, its a Great choice for a money saving and pretty powerful first car.

Pros: Great gas mileage, fun and easy to drive. very practical for everyday use. very soft clutch. comfortable. not alot of high maitenance costs.

Cons: ride is somewhat hard due to standard sport suspension. lagging in gear response. Cant expect alot for $20-25,0000. manual only for the "non-stick" drivers.

It's Pretty Cool. — This car is a very well built car, 4 cilinder get the job done, and has the bare minimum for Californians

    Pros: Very balanced.

    Cons: No sun/moon roof

Si Coupe — This car stock is quite a dream for most. It's got the high performance cam settings over 5600 rpm, and great low end torque and somewhat okay fuel efficiency for the lower range. The price of premium fuel will kick you in the ass, but the head turning sound of the cold air intake and performance exhaust as you race through all 6 gears in a close ratio manual transmission will make you look the other way at the pumps. The space inside is generous, fully adjustable buckets with telescopic steering make for a comfortable ride. The car is extremely sensitive to elevation and cold/warm climates in relation to performance due to the tuning done in the k20Z3's. Something to keep in mind. New owners should head over to 8thgen to get the full down on what your into with this. Temple of V-tec will also shed light.

Pros: Powerful i-vtec k20Z3 series. Cambered reared tires and limited helical front slip allow me to ride the sides of the rubber literally in any turn.

Cons: Rpm's hang due to emissions control ~ Max A/C seems to override this.

So Good I Bought Twenty... — Fantastic hybrid, much better than a Prius. Honda have avoided Toyota's mistake of building a Hybrid and then designing it to 'look' space age.

Pros: Hybrid, Low fuel, Low tax, Low emissions...

    Cons: Only a 1.4's performance

I Love My Sporty Little Car And It's All Mine! — I love the VTEC engine, the interior is black but would prefer gray. I love the moonroof, the trunk is pretty large. I've never had a two door car so it's seems really small on the inside but I'm getting use to it.

Pros: Sporty, compact, fun to drive

Cons: Small interior, definately not a family car!

    2008 Honda Civic EX-L Review

Nice Car - - - But — 2008 Civic EX-L Coupe (5 speed manual, without Navigation). Reasonably comfortable, seems well put together, decent power, handles pretty nicely. The clutch is light and the stick is easy to shift. Dealer options get real expensive real fast! I got the auto dimming mirror (worth every penny), foglights, splash guards, cargo net, cargo liner, and all weather floor mats. If I had to do it over I'd just get the auto dimming mirror and foglights from the dealer, everything else I'd buy aftermarket. See my comments about the heated seats in the discussion section. They are absolutely worthless. Also at this price point I really think that XM radio should be standard, unless you get the navigation system the radio is only "XM Ready". My dealer charges $799 for the XM Kit (including installation) which apparently consists of an antenna which is mounted inside the car on the windshield, a wire that leads from the antenna which is hidden behind the front pillar and attached to the back of the radio somehow. I miss my XM radio (old car had it) but not enough to spend that kind money. I also wonder how an antenna mounted inside the car will work? Every other car I have seen (Including Accords) has the XM Antenna mounted on the roof. All in all if I had to do it over I again I probably would not buy this car again; I'd either opt for the EX model (cloth, no heated seats) or get the Mazda 3 Grand Touring which was the other car I was considering. I got the Honda because it cost less and got better mileage and because the Mazda came with some things standard that I really didn't want = = The only way to get leather and heated seats on the Mazda is to get the Grand Touring model which also comes with rain-sensing wipers and xenon headlamps, neither of which I really wanted

Pros: Perfect paint, light clutch, smooth shifting 5 speed

Cons: Heated seats are worthless, interior plastics scratch easily. XM Radio should be standard (unless you get the navigation system the radio is only "XM Ready", my dealer charges $799 for the XM Radio Kit

Excellent Value Ex-l Manual W/nav — I just test drove the 2008 Civic EX-Manual and loved it. I have to be honest I drove the SI as well and thought it was awesome, but the envoronmentalist feels guilty about the decrease in gas mileage and having to fork over the money for premium fuel. I am a professional and I wanted a nice car to go to work and back that got decent mileage. I can afford to spend more on a car, but why do it if you don't have to. I decided to splurge and include Leather and Nav in the package. I got quoted an awesome price of 19500 + Dest Charge (620). So all in all not a bad deal.

    Miles Driven per Year:50

Pros: Leather and Nav make it seem upscaled, good gas mileage, heated front seats

Cons: Wouldn't mind getting leather on a Hybrid version
