Golden Hauler — One fantastic little SUV/Crossover. No wonder they're number one in sales of small SUV's. Bought this car new in 2008. Has 42,000 miles now, and not a squeak or rattle anywhere. It's the top of the line model (EX-L Navi) with black leather seats, Navigation, Silver Exterior, Weather Tech mats, 3M Clear Bra on front and leading edges, new tires, new battery, trailer hitch (class I), HID Headlights, Factory Honda Fog Lights, Magnaflow Exhaust, Honda Running Boards and Splash Guards, Privacy Glass in all rear windows, 50% Tint in front door windows, Monochromatic Rear View Mirror with Compass, Honda Rear Hatch Spoiler, K&N 1 Million Mile Air Filter, and Runs with Mobil 1 Oil.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: I think I've pretty much said it in my opening remarks.  One fantastic little SUV!  Handling is even above par for a car like this.

Cons: Could use a bit more power.  If Honda would Turbo it, look out!

Honda Crv — Awesome built quality and comfort. Cost of ownership is nominal. Perfect for a small family with a pet. Stereo is very good. All the safety features are a big plus. Easy to live with. Perfect for an Air Force family like us.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: thrifty, comfortable, great sound equipment, safe, practical...is a Honda after all.

Cons: The OEM tires are not very smooth.

Value, seat comfort, head and leg room. While the Acura MDX is bigger and slightly more refined, the overall difference between the Acura and the Honda was a lot smaller than I had expected. The Acura had just as much road noise, and the interior fit and finish was only very slightly nicer than the Honda's EX-L trim line. The Acura actually has less rear head room than the Honda, which was important for my tall family. While the Toyota offers optional V6 power, its other drawbacks in terms of interior refinement and appearance (not a fan of the steeply rising belt line on the third row window that makes it useless for lane changes, but which even Honda has now copied) dropped it below the Honda in my book.
