Mean Sounding Engine For 300 Ponys — it was a shelby gt and i smiled every time i turned the engine over. it sounded mean and was loud but not in the annoying harley kinda way. wasn't too fast overall had to slow on tight corners and no hard-stops, braking sucked. rattles and shakes - its a ford so cheap inside visually and amenity-wise, crappy instrument panel. might have been more fun to drive a manual but either way she was a looker for sure parked or running.

Pros: the sound of the engine (despite its kinda weak)

    Cons: you won't win

Great Car For The Money, Avoid The Cold. — Much better acceleration than the v6, great exhaust note, decent gas mileage for it's displacement, best loooking Mustang body style since 1967. It is a pain in the ass in the winter, but the fun I have in the summer more than makes up for it.

    Pros: A riot to drive.

Cons: Getting places in the winter is a matter of luck.

Absolutely Perfect — American muscle at it's finest. Feels like you are driving a Nascar. The only problem is it can get you in trouble real quickly if you don't watch the gas pedal! I would love to get some slicks for it and see then what it could do in the quarter mile. That's all I have to say.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Drives and handles like nothing else....

    Cons: Nothing

Get One. — I use my car for everything, daily, autocross, even a little track racing once in a while. Gets about 30 MPG at 60 MPH thanks to the tuner. I love driving this car, give me a twisty road, and I could drive all day.

    Pros: Sound of a 90 degree V8

Cons: 2011 GTs will have 90 more horsepower.

Get A Newer Model. 2008 Was Not The Best Year. — I love driving this car! It is sooo much fun. I used to be afraid of all the power it has, but ever since my fiance left it in my care, I have gotten really good at cruising. The quality of the car leaves something to be desired, but at least it's fun to drive and nice to look at.

    Pros: FAST and sexy

    Cons: Underneath, it's a POS

I Love My Car. — Performance - The acceleration in this car is great. With the options my Mustang GT has, its one of the heaviest non convertible models available. Yet I still managed to run a 13.5@105 MPH stock in the 1/4 mile on the stock mud & snow rated all season tires. I've seen timeslips and videos of 2008 Mustang GT's without the 200+ lbs. of options mine has run 13.1 to 13.3 in the 1/4 completely stock. Braking for street and autocross use is more than adequate. However, I needed to upgrade the brake pads and brake fluid for track use. With the stock brake pads and brake fluid, after 20+ minutes on a road course, the brake pedal was spongy and I could tell the brakes were overheated. An upgrade to Hawk HP+ brake pads and Motul RBF 600 helped that. The handling impressed me. It was much better than I expected. The newer (2005+) Mustang GT's have near 50/50 weight balance along with a new rear suspension design. Its different than the 1979-2004 solid axle Mustang GT's rear suspension. The front suspension is similar to the E36 and E46 3 series BMW's. Currently the Mustang GT and non supercharged Shelby Mustang GT are the fastest cars in SCCA F stock competition. They usually run faster times than the S2000 and Mazda RX-8 in stock class. After driving this car, I know why. Build Quality - This car hasn't needed any repairs in the time I owned it. Considering how hard its driven, I am amazed at that. The car did develop an occasional squeak on rough roads after I took part of the interior apart to install a short shifter. The squeak is probably due to me not putting something back together correctly. Appearance - The exterior of this car really impresses me. It has some of the retro 60's Mustang styling, but updated to fit a modern car's needs. The dark candy apple red metallic paint and satin black stripes go well together. The dark charcoal accent in the center of the spokes on the wheels is a nice touch. The interior also has some styling that reminds me of the 1960's Mustangs, such as the shape of the top of the dash board, but also is modernized. The instrument cluster has a retro look, but also has a small digital display telling me useful things such as gas mileage, miles to empty, average speed, and gives me the ability to select up to 256 colors for the instrument cluster lighting. Heated leather seats, 6 disc CD changer with MP3 player, and 500 watts powering the subwoofers are some nice modern features. Cost of Ownership - Gas mileage is good for a 300+ horsepower V8. I get 25 MPG on the highway and 18 MPG in my mostly stop and go driving to and from work. Since the car uses semi synthetic oil, oil changes cost a little extra over your typical economy car, but oil changes aren't required to be as frequent as some other cars. Fun Factor - The car is a blast to drive. It has great acceleration, good brakes, and good handling. Also, I've had many people compliment me on the appearance of my car. I really enjoy taking drives in this car for no other reason than to drive it and enjoy my time behind the wheel.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Appearance, Acceleration, Handling, Sound

Cons: Brakes need upgrades for race track(road course) use.

'08 Mustang Gt — This vehicle is fun to drive and fast enough for the highway. Gas mileage is a lot better than previous toys. Did not care for the shifter that came with the car-swapped that one out for a better one. Would recommend this car to anyone.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Performance

    Cons: Nothing

If Your Budget Cant Put You In A Gt The V6 Is Great Especially For Young Car Enthusiasts — While you dont really get the feel the v8 gives, the v6 can be just as fun to drive with the right modifications. Not to mention the price of insurance is way lower and the cost of gas as well. With a minor rear end mod or gt 8.8 swap this little 6er performs quite well.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Looks, Muscle car feel, best power for its price.

Cons: Not the best in comfort for those sitted in the back.
