I Love My Car!! — This is the best car I've ever owned. It's an SUV but it's not huge; it holds what I need it to hold and doesn't guzzle gas like the bigger SUVs. I love it!

Pros: I love the look!  It's a sharp vehicle!

Cons: Although it gets better gas mileage than most SUVs, it's still isn't as good as I would like it to be.

Escape From My Escape — I am trying to be fair about this but I can't wait to sell it. I have the TSB Escape special. This one has had them all. Rebuilt transmission at 25k miles, terrible staining on the interior seats from nothing, rear hatch button that was a pain to repair by my uncle who is a ford mechanic and now I believe the rear differential. It is a nice looking vehicle though when looking at the exterior. I am a woman who wants bells and whistles that are not indicator lights from something going wrong!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Has been pretty reliable.

Cons: The seats and the staining. I swear condensation leaves white ring marks. Hate them. Not very good gas mileage for being a 4 cyl.

Good For Basic Getting Around — I bought this vehicle used with 72K miles.. It now has105K miles. I like the vehicle but it is the low end of the class. Very chintzy interior. The pickup is very poor but moves very well on the highway. The seat fabric is terrible and can't be cleaned and they are extremely hard . All in all it's good transportation. 7/14 Recent call back # 14S05 - Steering

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: Size, handling, mileage, looks

    Cons: Hard seats, very unconfortable

Reliable And Confident On Bad Weather Daze — +134k miles and nothing but routine maintenance is a def pro in my book +not an off roader, but can handle as much rain and snow as you feel like driving thru -ford escapes seem to have an issue with the pillars peeling. if you have this problem you prolly notice it on other escapes too. -22mpg whilst hypermiling in my 2008 limited. very thirsty v6

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: great handling in foul weather.  limited feels luxurious

Cons: 22mpg while hypermiling  $120 each to replace peeling pilars...come on ford!  this is a common problem and obvious to others...fix it fo free

Reliable, low cost of ownership, and comfortable family all-purpose vehicle. It runs well, knows its a grocery-getter and fulfills the role dutifully. Easy to maintain and get parts for. The recycled material seats are not attractive but they will survive WWIII intact and are comfortable.

    2008 Ford Escape XLT V6 4WD Review
    says:
Nice ride. Comfortable and quiet inside. Great in the snow and decent ground clearance. Very good value for the money. Has good interior space especially for a family. Not the quickest car but it isnt designed for that, still has good city driving acceleration and torque. The Ford Escape with the Police interceptor is however a different story. If you can find one, these SUVs are very fast.
