Perfect For Me At Less Than $30k. — This car is a return to the days of "big six" RWD sports cars like the early Jag XKs, the Healys and TR-6, albeit with 2+2 seating in a bit larger package with plenty of leg and head room. I personally love the consistency between the silver and black exterior and interior, and I need a back seat, however small. I don't need a V-8 and like getting 30+ mpg on the highway. The five spoke 17" wheels and medium low profile tires give a moderate ride firmness without sacrificing handling. The manual 6 speed was the clincher in the purchase of this car, as that is very rare except in BMW M3 models, which are far more expensive. This one was shipped after purchase in Europe. I have a bit of difficulty getting a smooth shift from 1st to 2nd, but it seems to help to let it rev up above 3000 RPM before shifting. A slightly taller final drive ratio might be nice. Low end torque is sufficient that I hardly ever feel the need to exceed 3000 RPM in normal driving. Spirited driving is exhilarating and I see no need for the turbochargers of the 335i. The hardtop convertible is a real pleasure and I no longer fear vandals cutting up my ragtop. I love the looks of the hardtop crease as compared with the coupe.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: All the usual BMW attributes of excellent acceleration, handling and braking
Hardtop down leaves space for two overnight bags
Manual 6 speed without the other M characteristics and expense (imported from Europe)
Price/Value was very high at 3 years old with 24k miles.
Fuel economy is surprisingly good at over 30 mpg highway.

Cons: Spartan interior by luxury standards (black leatherette, brushed aluminum, black plastic)
Exhaust so quiet I replaced with a Remus unit that gives a nice subtle note.
Slight clutch judder at low acceleration levels. Overrode clutch delay valve, no change.
No bluetooth or nav, but do have Aux input to stereo and a stalk for my smart phone.

Great Performance Convertible. — Great handling and acceleration characteristics packaged in a sleek style. The front seats are excellent, and the contrasting color of the rich red interior against the black exterior is really sharp! Very fun to drive and extremely reliable. The retracting hard top is super easy to use and makes the car ideal for four seasons!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great engine, great look, and very reliable day to day.

Cons: Tire replacement is costly.  I would likely replace the run flat tires with non-run flat performance tires.

A Drivers Car — Confident in its corners and passing. the looks are incredible, people really like the car. Makes your jump a beat everytime you hear the engine. everything about this car is perfect. The Hard top convertible adds structual integrity, The hard top is a feat of mechanical engineering. DId i mention if looks could kill!. Please remember that BMW has a bumper to bumper warranty for 4 years and my advice is to get the extra warranty when making the purchase to 6 its worth it as brakes alone costs 1000. So u cant imagine if anything serious goes wrong. Also They have a problem with the HVTP system from the Turbos and the car can die at anytime when pushed hard, A 10year warranty comes with the 07-08 due to the lemon law act. Many who have the N54 engine experienced it. other than that its still a phenomenal feeling to drive in their twin turbo machines.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: killer looks, handles well. red leather,. interior and sound system off the hook.

Cons: expensive, really low keeps hitting the curb when i park. small interior. electrical on motors seem to be a german problem.

A Wonderful Car With Gorgeous Looks And Power To Spare. — Took a few months to sort out the Idrive, but now it seems very intuitive. Clear Bluetooth and a quiet interior when you want it to be. The exhaust note has a wonderful tone in the upper rev range and the car loves to be heard. A great place to spend my commute.

Pros: Power and handling, beautifully styled.  Typical BMW build quality.

Cons: In and out of the back seats not so easy.  Kids even complain.

Great Car To Drive, But It Has Its Faults. — Updated: 2012, July 23th Power delivery feels superb. Engine has plenty of torque and revs surprisingly well for a diesel. Fuel economy is quite good considering the engine's power. You'll easily get 5,5-6,5 l/100km just driving it around. Of course, if you drive it like your pants were on fire you can get as high as 13,5 l/100km. Gearbox, at least in this car, is very notchy. Getting it into reverse demands a bit of muscle. Handling is great with very good steering feel and feedback. However, because the steering is a bit on the heavy side, it can become rather tiresome during everyday driving. The traction and stability control system keep everything in order, but it's permissive enough to let you have some fun even without turning it off. Suspension is a bit on the hard side, which contributes to the great handling but can be a bit of a bone shaker on rougher roads. I'm not a big fan of its looks and I believe it won't age well. I also find the interior a bit uninspiring but materials and assembly are top notch. If there's one thing that's lacking is storage places. That's bad for most everyday cars, but a sin for such a family car. Rear leg room is good (lenghtwise) but the seats are too low and there isn't enough space under the front seats for rear passenger to put their feet - that means you have to go in an ape-like position. The seats in the rear could also do with a bit more cushioning. And don't try to carry 3 passengers in the back... iDrive, after so many years and improvements, still sucks. And this is coming from someone who actualy enjoys playing around with gadgets...

    Primary Use: Family transportation

    Pros: Great engine.

Cons: Notchy gearbox. iDrive still sucks.

Bmw Series 3 — This car is something absolutely perfect, it isn't like an audi or a mercedes, cars that aren't funny. with this car for example you can without problem drive in a circuit, because it is a car near to bmw m3. Mercedes cls or audi a5 are cars made only to go straight in a runway, heavy and beautiful, but this bmw is something that can be used to do it all, recommend.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: is a sport car and confortable too

Cons: it hasn't a sport botton

2008 Bmw 3 Series — Good handling, but disappointing overall due to build quality !!! The ride was too rough for the poor roads I have to drive on for my daily commute. Then for one of the test drives I had hurt my shoulder, and it was hard for me to turn the steering wheel. And power steering (I guess that is what Active Steering is). However, every time I drive it, I can't help but feel disappointed with the build quality. Rattles and squeaks seem to be produced from every corner of the cabin, and for a car that is supposedly built to the highest standards

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Build Quality

Cons: Good handling  but hard to turn steering whell

I drove a lot of different sporty cars before I bought my BMW 328i and nothing could touch the 3 series in terms of the entire package.
