2008 Mdx -fun Car — I looked at and tried a number of SUVs. I had owned a Touarge, one is enough. I tried out every other brand except the American models, I'm almost ashamed to say. There was not one that handled better or was even close to being a better value for the price. I've had it almost a year and love it. We had an ice storm recently, and it handled great as cars were off the road all around me my whole trip. Acceleration is not nearly what my V8 Touareg was but still sufficient. Very fun to drive SUV. Pros: handling, looks, good on snow and ice, fun to drive Cons: gas mileage is not great, they call it technology model, but it's really a nice base with a nav. and better speakers, wish it had a heated steering wheel ![]() Looking for a Used MDX in your area?CarGurus has 8,752 nationwide MDX listings starting at $2,000. |

Acura Mdx 2008 — The MDX Tech/Entertainment is a nice car with a smooth ride. The sound is great and rides very quiet. The GPS navigation is got a little work to get used to and not very good. Also, after having the car was less than 4 months, I am seeing the leather darken on the driver area. I have a black leather jacket and I am not sure if the leather is fading into the parchment leather. Other than that, the car drives very well and can comfortably handle 6 passengers. Pros: Quiet ride and fast pickup. Very responsive and very solid interior. Cons: Not sure of the interior leather and GPS needs some work. |

Overall A Good Luzurious Suv — Got a great year end deal on an 08 in December 2008. Considered the Totota Highlander and the Mercedes RL. Likes: Acura/Honda reliability, great handling, looks, comfortable, luxurious, quality, generous standard amenities, drives like a sporty sedan. Dislikes: thirsty V6 Pros: Great value considering the German competition. Cons: Poor gas mileage-but is is a SUV that can seat up to 7 so................ |

Great Suv! — Tons of power, lots of features... The MDX is one of if not THE best SUV in its class. We took a lot of other SUVs for test drives, including the Mercedes. We liked the MDX the best out of all. Power is great. Mileage is alright.. we get about 16mpg average, and 23mpg on the highway for longer trips. The backup camera is a great feature, however it is mounted off center-making it useless to help backing up with any sort of precision. Pros: Tons of features, great quality Cons: SUV fuel economy, but it is, after all, an SUV |

My Mdx Review...a Year Later. — The best thing about the MDX is value. Loaded is standard in every trim level...ex. seat heaters, sun roof, floor mats, etc. Acura just includes them. By the time I equipped other luxury SUV's (BMW & Lexus) with what already came with the Acura, the price didn't compare...a difference of $10K or more! No kidding, try it yourself. Caution, while a loaded Suburban doesn't even compare pricewise, it does have more 3rd row space than an MDX...if that is important to you. The only real choice was whether I wanted navigation or not...I did. Acura navi is functional, easy and far superior to the Chevrolet Suburban and BMW navi systems...not sure about Lexus b/c I didn't try that one out. Have the sales guy demo the navi while on a test drive. Acura's operates the way you would want it to...and anywhere in the nation. Chevy's was terrible and I now know why Germans build cars not computers. BMW felt great to drive, but the price was ridiculous for a similarly equipped vehicle. Acura's V6 is very quick with superior handling. It felt as fast or faster than BMW...Chevy felt powerful, but very heavy with poor handling. MPG - it could be better, but on a recent road trip of 600 miles each way including driving in the Rocky Mountains, I averaged 23 MGP...cruise control set no lower than 65. In town, I get about 17. And these numbers are with Acura's full-time AWD! I don't know I think folks who get less than that are probably the ones who speed up just to get to the next stop-light first. If you have any common sense, you can beat Acura's estimated MPG. Caution...I do live in a pretty flat city...no hills or mountains to contend with on a regular basis. The car is easily the most comfortable I have ever had. I don't go off-roading or mudding, but the AWD is an absolute dream on icy roads on ski trips, and dirt roads and boat ramps at the lake. It has a great ride, seats, A/C in the entire car. The stereo couldn't sound better. The 2nd Row seats have plenty of leg room and even recline for comfort...other adults are always impressed. The 3rd Row seating is tight. It is neither roomy nor comfortable. I would never use it for adult passengers. If 3rd Row is important to you, nothing beats a Suburban. Space in the back is adequate. I usually don't haul much, but I've never needed more space. I don't know about dealer maintenance costs because I leased and bought the all-inclusive maintenance package. I have never needed to do anything other than oil, gas, wiper fluid. But I would rip any new car than was only a year old with regular miles and needed any other maintenance than that. BOTTOM LINE - MDX is the best car I have ever had. MDX was the first SUV I looked at. I thought they were a little too "carpool mom" at first so I looked around. After a couple of months, I came running back. There hasn't been a day in over a year that I wish I had gotten anything else. I would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. If you want the best SUV on the market, this is it. Pros: High quality, superior value, excetional ride and features. Cons: 3rd row seating is tight, goofy shield-like grille...but that is all. |

Good Looking Suv Inside And Out — If you are concerned about MPG, don't even think about it. We had a Honda Pilot before this one and with the Pilot, we got a decent MPG so we didn't think too much about MPG when getting this one. Let's me tell you. This will give you 12 MPG in the city. The best highway MPG I got was 20 MPG. My wife drives this mostly around town so guess which MPG we are getting? Other than MPG, it's a nice SUV. It seats 7 but it's not a monster like Navigators or Suburbans. It's nicely equipped (We got the MDX with the Tech Package) with Nav, XM, 10 speaker 410 Watt 6 DVD in-dash changer, leather and moonroof. It's got the SH-AWD and it really works pretty well. The car drives the outside wheels faster when going around the corners and it really tightens the driving line noticeably. It's got 300HP 3.7 V-6 which moves the SUV swiftly. It's a great people mover with good pricing. The comparable competitors from Germany and Japan costs a lot more than this one with less options.
Pros:
Good acceleration
Cons:
Terrible MPG |

Eh. It Was Fun While It Lasted. But Im Not Really Trying To Go Back And Try Again — nice rear. good handling. amazing acceleration. not very reliable. has had a few loose screws floating around causing problems. but nothing i couldn't handle with a good tune up. this is the best its gets. anything after is garbage. i can expect future busts. Pros: the way it made me feel Cons: knowing every make after it would be garbage. stay away from this brand |

Acura Mdx Tech — Katie and I just purchased a new MDX w. Tech package. Couldn't resist the January incentives plus we used a broker which made a $12k difference in starting price. Love it so far - in fact, Acura does a lousy job of promoting all the things the car can do (technology wise). The thing speaks to us and we use voice command to operate many of the creature comforts. It's firmer ride than the Lexus - more BMW, which we like - the Infinity FX also rides in a similarly sporty way. In fact, we almost went with an FX but found out that there was a mahor revision for 2009. Though the styling on the FX is better, the MDX is the better value proposition. Great acceleration - as quick as the BMW 3.0 and very secure handling. In fact, I was so busy playing with the controls as I left the dealership and headed out on the highway, I failed to notice someone cutting me off and the VSA (vehicle stabilization) systems saved my @ss. In my old car I ceratinly would have wrecked. Fit and finish are immaculate and on par with Lexus or Mercedes though a little more straight forward. As this has been only 2+ weeks with it - will wait to further review. Pros: Everything Cons: 17mpg (7.2km/litre), is a bit thirsty. But we only drive 26km/day so less than 10k/year so not a huge deal. |
