It Is The Best "retro" Vehicle On The Road! — The first time I saw this vehicle I knew I wanted it. It has not disappointed me at all! My husband is waiting for me to get bored with it so he can claim it for his fishing vehicle. He's going to have to wait a long time! Even though is it a 4x4, I don't have to climb in and fall out like other suv's or trucks. It is sporty and always gets looks on the road. I am pleased with everything except the paint chips on the hood from rocks. Our other vehicles have been Fords and they gave us no paint problems like this. I thought Toyota would have a better paint process, especially since the design of the vehicle is so angular. We had the hood repainted - which Toyota would not cover under warranty. We did install a windscreen or "bug shield" and that seems to have helped. I still consider this minor when rating the vehicle. I do wish, tho', that Toyota would institute a better paint thickness and process.

Pros: I love everything about it. The looks, ride, and handling. We are not even disappointed in the gas mileage: 16 in town 20-22 on the road.

Cons: Not so great going down the highway in the West Texas wind!

Fj Cruiser — Great SUV. This car is the definition of an SUV and will serve its purpose. Has a 6-Speed tranny and you can choose to activate the 4 wheel drive whenever you want. The family off road vehicle for camping, hiking, or just going to church (It's our biggest vehicle). My Dad's car.

    Pros: Fun to drive; Looks sporty with the two hidden doors; 4x4 drive and power to back it;

Cons: Only 18-22 mpg; Gets dirty easily; High center of gravity and can't corner well

Coolest New Vehicle Out There — the design, offroad ability, power and more make it at the top of my list

Pros: design, offroading, reasonable price, Toyota dependability.

    Cons: not everyone owns one!

Traded A Jeep Wrangler In On This. Best Move I Have Made Lately. — Rides good, handles good. Easy to clean interior. Towed a car across country with it, towed a Travel Trailer to Fontana dam in NC. Been off road in Death Valley, climbed clay hills in the rain in NC.

Pros: Good all round off road vehicle.

    Cons: None.

Awesome Suv! — I love the FJ cruiser. They have decent power, the Manual Trans. is a beauty to drive and the 4wd system is flawless (IMO).

Pros: Awesome off-road capability, good power

    Cons: Bad blind spots.

Best Suv I Have Ever Driven. — I owned BMW X5 before I had my FJ. Love how it looks and performs. Handling wise X5 was better on the road, but it's suspension was stiffer than the FJ. Well for the off-road driving the FJ is GREAT. I owned two Wranglers (Rubicon) and they were good for off-road but the wranglers doesn't come close to both on and off road performance. FJ handles much better. Very very reliable car. You can sit 5 adults comfortably, in-n-out from the back seat is bit challenging. Lots of room in the trunk. Roof rack could be used for other accessories. Very smooth ride. Great resale value. You won't regret on this one.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: The best off and on road machine. Superior rides. Handles great. Looks great. Many aftermarket mods available. Better than Wranglers.

Cons: Blind-spot. Buy some blind-spot mirrors and that will take care of that issue. It burns a lot of fuel. But you have to expect that from a big truck.

Love The Vehicle Overall. — I would not recommend this for a family's primary transport, but for the off-road/adventure enthusiast the vehicle is awesome. the cabin is roomy (in the front) with lots of headroom and width. the vehicle has been vitally cost-free with exception of services and gas.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: great vehicle for the intend purpose--off-roading.  will go anywhere!  the variable driving conditions are (such as mud, rough terrain, snoe) are dealt with through the use of multiple suspension and drive train settings.

Cons: over the road the suspension is a bit tight--but not uncomfortably so.  rear visibility is blocked by wide pillars.  very small backseat area--not ideal for a family.  at best children less than 10 years old could si comfortably.
