The 2007 Toyota 4Runner is carried over from the previous year without change, following a mid-cycle styling update for the SUV's fourth generation in 2006. This model is the entry point for the 4Runner line, as the lowest priced and most moderately equipped version. The SR5 badge signifies the inclusion of a CD player, automatic climate control, 16 inch wheels, cruise control, keyless entry, and all power features. Options on this model include power seats, a JBL audio system upgrade, an anti-theft system, and auto-dimming mirrors. A DVD-based navigation system with Bluetooth capability is available of this and all models.
The base 4Runner houses a 4.0 liter DOHC V-6, the smaller of two engine options. This power plant provides 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The Variable Valve Timing + intelligence system helps the four liter engine generate more power, while lowering emissions and improving fuel economy. This model is among the most fuel efficient 4Runners, with an EPA rating of 18/22 mpg.
All 4Runners use an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission. The V-6 models will tow 5000 pounds. Regardless of the trim level, every 4Runner is 189 inches long and 75 inches wide. The addition of an optional roof rack or rear spoiler will vary the overall height. A third row of seating can also be added.

Each of the three 4Runner trim levels is available in four variations. Each comes as either a 4x4 or 4x2, with a V-6 or V-8 engine. This 4x2 SR5 adds a V-8. This engine's 260 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque is most recognizable in initial acceleration and overall towing capacity. The 4x2 and V-8 combination begets the quickest 4Runners, and towing capacity jumps from 5000 to 7300 pounds.
On this Toyota model, SR5 is considered the base level trim. It is still very well equipped. Automatic climate control, CD player, all power features, and keyless entry all come standard. Options include a DVD-based navigation system, Bluetooth capability, a ten speaker JBl audio upgrade, rear backup camera, and a rear seat DVD entertainment system. A third row of seating is also available.
Toyota also includes nearly every available safety feature with every 4Runner variation. The Star Safety System includes Toyota developments like Vehicle Stability Control + Traction Control, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, and Brake Assist. Side impact airbags and daytime running lights are the only items left as optional.

The 4Runner has no changes for 2007, following many significant revisions in the previous year. The midsize SUV has a long history: it was around long before we used terms like "midsize SUV." The 4Runner had always been very similar in size and shape to Toyota's compact pickups, but in recent years Toyota has worked to set the SUV apart. While the current Tacoma pickup begins with a very pedestrian and stripped down base model, all 4Runners receive an abundance of luxury and convenience appointments.
This SR5 model, ascends one level beyond the base 4Runner by adding 4WD. While the SR5 trim is optional on the Tacoma, it is included here. Trims can also be upgraded to the Sport Edition or the high end Limited. Standard features include power windows and locks, CD player, automatic climate control, 16 inch wheels, cruise control, and keyless entry.
The power plant is the Tacoma's 4.0 liter V-6, enhanced by Variable Valve Timing + intelligence. The 4000 pound SUV receives 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque from this engine, which is mated to a five speed automatic transmission. Toyota will return the 4Runner unaltered for 2007, after a number of cosmetic adjustments for the prior model year. The ever-evolving 4Runner has been on the road for over two decades, and is now in its fourth generation. Toyota's popular SUV is also considerably flexible, with twelve variations to meet the different desires and needs of prospective buyers.
The Sport Edition is the mid-level trim between the base SR5 and luxurious Limited models. This finish adds 17 inch wheels, power seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and special X-REAS shocks. These shocks are cross-linked, hence the X, left front to right rear and vice versa. The benefits of the X-REAS system included a damped ride that retains enough road-responsiveness, and better cornering thanks to a hydraulic pump/sensing system that limits body roll. This suspension is not designed for serious off-roading.
The Sport Edition is available with four possible engine and drive train combinations. This 4x2 version is powered by the 4.0 liter V-6, which is the best combination for fuel efficiency (18/22 mpg). This VVT-i engine provides 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a five-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. All V-6 4Runners can tow 5000 pounds.

The Sport Edition-finished 4Runner has 266 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque, and offers the best on-road performance of all models. V-8 towing capacity jumps to 7300 pounds.

The 2007 Toyota 4Runner is carried over from the previous model year. In 2006 the SUV saw many changes, including new front and rear bumpers, restyled grille, new headlamps, and the addition of more exterior chrome trim. Of the four available SR5 4Runners, this model is the most equipped. The Sr5 badge signifies the base trim for the 4Runner, but this model adds four wheel drive and a larger engine.
The power plant upgrade comes in the form of a 4.7 V-8, which generates 266 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, and aided by Variable Valve Timing. The VVT-i technology, which has been found in many Lexus models for nearly a decade, is an intake camshaft management system designed to improve power, lower emissions and raise fuel economy. While all 4Runners earn a LEV emissions rating, this model is the least fuel efficient, with an EPA of 16/19 mpg.
However, the 4x4 V-8s are the most capable. All models are built with the durable body on frame construction, but here Toyota adds its Torsen full-time 4WD system, with a locking limited slip differential. On the V-8 model, towing capacity increases from 5000 to 7300 pounds. Standard features include Toyota's Star Safety System ( Vehicle Stability Control + Traction Control, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist), keyless entry, power windows and door locks, and automatic climate control.

In the past twenty-five years, Toyota's 4Runner has evolved from a modest two-door pickup variation into a sleek and rugged-looking midsize SUV. The models of the early and mid-1980s simply resembled capped pickup trucks, but the 4Runner of the 21st century has its own unique style, set significantly apart from its closest relative, the Tacoma. Now in its fourth generation, the 4Runner is more akin to the Land Cruiser than ever before.
The Sport Edition is suggestive of the traditional SR5 intentions, but it offers far more in the way of standard features. Automatic climate control, CD player, power windows and mirrors, power seats, and keyless entry are found in every model. This trim also includes unique elements like special seat fabric and X-REAS shock absorbers. X-REAS is a performance-focused addition which features a cross-linked design, and special hydraulic pumps and sensors to alleviate body roll. The Sport Edition also adds 17 inch wheels.
The engine is a 4.0 liter V-6, supported by TRD's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence system. VVT-i offers horsepower improvements, lower emissions, and higher fuel economy. This V-6 supplies the 4200 pound SUV with 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. Fuel efficiency is pulled down a bit by the addition of 4WD, to 17/21 mpg. The 4Runner is only offered with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The 2007 Toyota 4Runner is unchanged from the previous model year. The midsize SUV is highly variable, with twelve distinct models to choose from. This model is two steps away from the highest level 4Runner, only missing the V-8 and four wheel drive. Limited is the premium trim, with the longest list of standard features. This model is equipped with running boards, a six disc CD changer, a trip computer, dual climate control, 18 inch wheels, leather, and heated front seats.
Power is supplied by a 4.0 liter V-6, boosted and refined by Variable Valve Timing + intelligence technology. The engine makes 236 horsepower and 266 pound feet of torque, and it is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. At just over 4000 pounds, it is one of the lightest 4Runner models, and it earns the line's highest EPA rating, at 18/22 mpg.
Even with the V-6, the 4Runner is a capable towing vehicle, able to pull 5000 pounds. A special tow kit is available as an option. Toyota adds almost every available safety feature to this model, including their unique Star Safety System which adds Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS, Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution. Side curtain airbags and daytime running lights are the only safety-related add-ons.

Toyota's midsize SUV underwent a full redesign in 2006, and little has changed since then. The addition of the Limited trim creates the most upscale 4Runner, and a myriad of luxury features as standard equipment. Several of the items optional on other models are included here. The 4Runner Limited comes with a six disc CD changer, dual climate control, running boards, leather trim, heated front seats, and 18-inch wheels. Options include a DVD-based navigation system, Bluetooth, and a rear seat DVD entertainment system.
While this model retains the lower level 4x2 drive train, it upgrades to the larger engine. The 4.7 liter V-8 produces 260 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. Towing capacity ascends over a ton above the V-6 models, to 7300 pounds. Gains in power are paid for in fuel economy, which drops to 17/20 mpg.The only transmission is a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic.
Like all Toyota models, the 4Runner is equipped with a thorough collection of safety features, many of which are unique to Toyota. The most notable is the Star Safety System. It includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS, Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution.

The 4Runner returns without change for 2007. Toyota's popular SUV will once again be offered with a variety of engine, drive train, and trim configurations. The highest level is the Limited trim, well appointed with many desirable convenience and luxury features. This model includes a six disc CD changer, a trip computer, dual climate control, leather, and heated front seats as standard equipment.
The 4Runner has two engine and two drive train options. This version combines the V-6 with four wheel drive. The V-6 displaces four liters, and generates 236 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque. The VVT-i system will stretch power and fuel efficiency to the limit, and also lowers emissions. The 4x4 V-6 4Runners have an EPA rating of 17/21mpg. All models have 23 gallon fuel tank.
The properly equipped 4Runner models are quite capable. The advanced 4x4 technology includes a lockable limited-slip center differential, and it is supported off road by a rugged suspension system with front and rear stabilizer bars. Many have found this model to be ideal for road trips. All V-6 4Runners can tow 5000 pounds, and offer 42 cubic feet of cargo space when the third row of seats is removed.

This V-8 powered Limited 4x4 is the highest priced of any 4Runner. Toyota's very popular midsize SUV gains additional power and off-road ability, thanks to the addition of a larger engine and a 4x4 drive train. The Limited finish offers the most luxurious interior, adding a six disc CD changer, dual climate control, leather trim, heated front seats, and a trip computer to the standard features list. A DVD based navigation system, JBL audio upgrade, Bluetooth capability, and a rear seat DVD entertainment system are all available as add-ons.
This 4Runner is powered by a 4.7 liter DOHC V-8, which generates 260 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque. The powerful engine is enhanced by TRD's Variable Valve Timing + intelligence, which increases power, lowers emissions, and improves fuel economy. This this still the least fuel efficient 4Runner, with an EPA rating of 16/19 mpg. A five-speed electronically controlled automatic is the only transmission option on all 4Runners.
This is the most powerful and capable 4Runner made. The V-8 raises towing capacity to 7300 pounds. An optional towing kit can also be added. Toyota's 4x4 technology includes a lockable limited-slip center differential, and the rugged suspension system includes front and rear stabilizer bars and a four-link setup in the rear. An optional rear height control air suspension includes the X-REAS Sport Enhancement.
