Porsche Cayman S — Performance - Great acceleration, unbelievable handling. It eats corners for lunch. Build Quality - I've owned it for two years and its been in for service once! Appearance - One of my favorite cars on the road. Cost of Ownership - Gas is reasonable (unless you're pushing it) Fun Factor - 15 out of 10

    Pros: Great looking wonderful performance

Cons: Loud interior - true sports car loses some luxury finishes

For The Money, Great Car — For starting at such a low price for a high performance car, this car is amazing. You get performance, you get looks, you get everything starting at only 50,000$!

    Pros: Low Price, performance

Cons: Fairly common compared to a 911

Best Purchase I've Ever Made! — Not only is this car fast, but it handles incredibly, and looks amazing! I love being a chick getting out of this car anywhere and everywhere I go...

    Pros: looks, speed and handling

Cons: I guess space is a little limited!

Driving Perfection — Although not as powerful as a 911, the handling of this car around corners and the acceleration is just beautiful. O yes, and it has a lot of luggage space (can fit it two grocery trollies' full of things...ha ha)

Pros: Handling around corners.  The beautiful lines. It's a Porche

Cons: Difficult to insure in the UAE

Easily The Best Sports Car Value On The Market. —

The Cayman is nice looking from many angles, but not all. I never fails to collect compliments, if you are into that sort of thing. I guess that's got more to do with the Porsche brand, which I find subtracts from the car somewhat. I find the the seats really comfortable and supportive, however, I am fairly slim and I think broader frames would find the seats snug. I love how low you can sit in the car. Visibility is surprisingly good, even with the seat positioned low. Fuel economy is good; about 21 mpg, even with frequent "Italian tune-ups". Maintenance and repair costs are about what you might expect; not cheap. But the car is entirely worth it. The engine is a masterpiece. It sounds great all of the time. It has really effective and linear torque delivery. The throttle response is incredible. And it loves to rev. The steering is brilliant. Hydraulic, so it communicates as it should. The car is incredibly balanced. It will understeer, if you accelarate hard into a turn. However, if you stab it into a turn, it is neutral and you can control the the yaw with the throttle. It flatters the driver. The ride is good, considering that the car is nearly a track weapon. I really have no complaints about the car. It's brilliant!

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great car! Makes a great noise, fantastic engine, beautifully balanced chassis, great steering feel. Decent ride quality and fuel economy. I love it!

Cons: Expensive to maintain as a daily driver.

Mine Lives And Drives In The Mountains. — I would opt for the short throw manual transmission, although the regular manual is solid. The PDK Is supposedly superlative for a slush box. Every time I drive this car it makes me smile. Once you have driven it for a stretch, especially if the road has no curves, you might wish for just a little more power.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Hips, raspy howling exhaust (I recommend other drivers research Speedart exhausts), you feel it understand the road through your fingertips.  Every cycle of the engine is woth listening to.

Cons: It does ride like a sports car.  It would be nice as a turbo.  I expect this porsche to evolve more over the years.  I especially expect Porsche to lend more cache to this line as the 911 driver ages.  I think Porsche would do well for itself by initiating new Porsche drivers with a I've got a secret (cayman is better) campaign.  I'm impatient, I would like a 3.8 liter turbo cayman now.

2009 S Models Are Better Then The Base Carrera In Every Point — Love the design, Love the engine sound, love the power and AMAZING steering Porsche did it again, i think Best mid-engine car for under 100K, any other car that you can compare to it is probably not as good for both track and daily driving

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Best handling ever

    Cons: Pricy

It Depends What You Want Out Of A Car; Everything About This Car Is A 50/50. —

The Porsche Cayman S is a very unique car, it is only one of a few current mid-engined coupes. In terms of performance I found it controversial. This car is always composed in terms of handling. You will hardly find it understeering or oversteering. If you want a car that just sits neutral all the time it will be the Cayman/S. However, I found that the 3.4l engine while being sufficient... just lacked somewhat in terms of off-the-line power. The power only really kicks in above 5000 rpm. The Cayman S is great for top speed runs but in the real world, I believe more should have been emphasised on the 0-100km/h time as this is what you use more. The brakes were great, I find them better than my current car. Build quality: it's a Porsche. You won't expect anything below good. It has never needed repairs besides that of the usual service. The Porsche service is great as well: they are very efficient. Appearance: It was a 50/50 for the Cayman S. It is true, you either love it or you don't. I still see current Caymans or Cayman S's and find that they have quite a presence on the road. You will hardly find a more smooth styling; everything just seemingly flows together. The only complaint was that I felt possibly the spoiler was too small to look good or have much impact. I considered adding a TechArt spoiler on top as I felt that would have improved looks if we had kept the car. All types of maintenance for any high end car such as a Porsche is going to be high. If it is covered under the maintenance plan then good, if it is not... you are going to run into a bit of trouble with your wallet. The fuel consumption was very decent for such a car. It was around the 12l/100km area and that's on par with the cars in the Cayman S's segment such as the Audi TT 3.2 Quattro. Last the fun factor: this car was great to drive. I took it on weekends with my father on cruising routes. It is great around bends and if you accelerate from a speed of about a 100km/h it really pulls well. This car was made for top end speed I found and on long cruises it suits this car well.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

    Pros: Handling/composure, Sleek looks, it's a Porsche :)

Cons: Some will feel that it's for those who cannot afford a Carrera or higher, it lacks power in terms of off-the-line, the resale value
