2007 Nissan Maxima Trims and Specs

The Nissan Maxima is a luxury full-size sedan, and the 2007 Maxima SE adds a touch of sportiness to the drive, with a sports-tuned suspension and larger 18-inch alloy wheels. A 3.5-liter, 255-hp DOHC V6 powers the Maxima, and in 2007 it gets a new CVT continuously variable transmission with manual mode. ABS brakes, traction control, fog lights, dusk-sensing headlights, and dual front-side and front and rear head airbags are standard. Stability control is optional.

The 2007 Maxima SE is well equipped for comfort and includes full power options, including an 8-way power driver's seat. Keyless entry, audio controls on the steering wheel, cruise control, a trip computer with temperature display, dual-zone climate control, universal remote, a CD player with new MP3 capability, and leather and alloy trim decorate the cabin. A SkyView full-length fixed panel sunroof is standard, and a regular power sunroof is optional.

There are many bundled option packages that add much of what you'll find on the SL (heated leather seats, power passenger seat) and features such as memory settings, a navigation system, chrome wheels, satellite radio, a new rear parking sensor, and a rear seating configuration for two with a center console. Owners like the new style and power, but wish for better gas mileage and stand-alone options instead of packages.

With a redesigned exterior and interior for 2007, the 2007 Nissan Maxima SL once again emphasizes luxury and performance in its full-size sedan. It is powered by a 3.5-liter, 255-hp DOHC V6 and a new CVT seamless-shifting transmission with manual mode. The 2007 Maxima SL is the more luxurious of the two trims and does not come with the stiff suspension in the sporty SE. It also has smaller 17-inch alloy wheels. ABS brakes and traction control are standard, as are dual front-side and head airbags. The SL also has fog lights, dusk-sensing headlights, and a tire monitor. Stability control is optional.

The 2007 Maxima SL adds a compass to the dash, along with the trip computer and temperature display. Luxuries not found on the SE include a 4-way power passenger seat, heated leather seats, an upgraded sound system with 6-CD changer and MP3 capability, and faux wood trim along with the leather shifter and steering wheel. This is in addition to the full array of power features, cruise control, intermittent wipers, and SkyView full-length fixed sunroof that opens up the cabin. Options add on a DVD player, navigation system, a new rear parking assist sensor, Bluetooth, driver's memory settings, and a two-passenger rear seat with center console. Poor gas mileage and a wide turning radius are the biggest complaints, but most drivers like the styling, handling, and list of standard features.
