The Chrysler 300 returned with several changes for 2007. By its third model year, the chiseled-looking sedan had reached the top of Chrysler sales, and demand had brought about occasional shortages. The first series of upgrades for the well-respected 300 included adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and 18 inch chrome wheels. Some new features were optional depending on the trim. This base model comes standard with cloth seats, A/C, CD player, keyless entry, and a power drivers seat. While standard on all other versions, safety features like ABS, traction control, and stability control are optional here.
The 300 family of engines begins with this 2.7 liter V-6, which makes 190 horsepower and provides 190 pound feet of torque. It is paired with a four-speed automatic-the only transmission option on the base 300. AWD is also not available. In conjunction with the inclusion of a small engine, this full size sedan to sheds some weight, down from 4000 to 3700 pounds. One look at the body says a lot about aerodynamics, but 190 horses are enough for adequate acceleration through the higher gears. The 0-60 time remains at just over ten seconds.
The base 300 could be categorized as the fuel efficient model, as part of a series in which the most powerful trim requires a gas guzzler tax. This 300 receives an comparatively economical EPA rating of 21/28 mpg.

Even though Chrysler had culled back the number of 300 series variations, the Touring trim package remained intact for 2007. The sedan was still available with either rear wheel or all wheel drive, and the larger V-6 had now been teamed with the 5-speed automatic transmission found in the 300C. In addition to standard features like leather trim, fog lights, heated mirrors, and an advanced yaw control system, the new 300 Touring added adaptive cruise control, auto-dimming high beams, and heated rear seats. A navigation system and premium stereo were also available.
This version of the sedan will see slightly better gas mileage than its AWD counterpart, gaining a mile per gallon both in the city and on the highway. The 19/25 mpg rating is surprisingly high for a 4000 pound sedan with 250 horsepower and poor aerodynamics. The 250 horses are drawn from the 3.5 liter V-6, which also produces 250 pound-feet of torque.
In the past, owners have found the 300 Touring to be a fine cruising sedan, with a well-cushioned ride, adequate power, and plenty of interior comforts and conveniences. However, the 300C functions as the true performer in the family, replacing the V-6 with a Hemi V-8.

While its appearance remains unchanged, the 2007 Chrysler 300 Touring receives some new interior amenities, and additional convenience and safety features. Already standard with the higher level Touring package are leather seats, fog lamps, heated mirrors, and a larger V-6. The new year brings
adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, heated rear seats, and restyled 18 inch chrome wheels.
The 300 Touring sedan is powered by a 3.5 liter V-6, which generates 250 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. Additional power will lower the 0-60 acceleration time from over ten seconds to around eight. The V-6 is paired with a five speed automatic as the only transmission option. The Touring model had previously used a four speed.
The addition of AWD and a larger engine will tug down the 300's fuel efficiency, from 21/28 for the base to 18/24 mpg. The Touring trim has been most recognized by drivers for its blend of agile handling with a forgiving suspension system. The AWD drive model bares many resemblances to the earlier Mercedes E-Class, a Daimler relative, utilizing the same platform, transmission, and all-wheel-drive system.

The Chrysler 300C returned in 2007 with many revisions. The C had served as Chrysler's flagship sedan since its introduction in 2005, offering a myriad of features and upgrades which nearly doubled the price of base 300 model. In addition to a premium Boston Acoustics sound system, leather trim, driver memory power adjustments, rain sensing wipers, and an optional navigation system the new 300C added adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and heated rear seats. Power plant and drive train options remained as before.
The 300C takes its power from a 5.7 liter Hemi V-8, a three liter increase beyond the 300's base V-6. The Hemi makes 340 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, and pulls the C from 0 to 60 mph in less than 6 seconds. Most quarter mile tests have the 300C around 14 seconds. The engine is paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission that includes a manual shifter. The 4000+ pound sedan's EPA rating 19/25 mpg-a bit higher than the all wheel drive version.
The 300C earns nearly unanimous praise for performance. The acceleration and power throughout the speed range is incredibly strong, and the car handles considerably well for its size. Some shorter drivers may experience visibility problems due the long hood and high rear deck. The window height is also pinched to give the car a more compact muscular appearance. In the past, the 300 reputation has been nagged by reliability and quality issues, and even the occasional recall.

The 300C was by far the most in-demand version of Chrysler's flagship sedan. The C has been equipped with many new features for 2007 including adaptive cruise control, restyled 18 inch chrome wheels, automatic high beams, and heated rear seats. The C is further set apart by a premium Boston Acoustics sound system, leather trim, driver memory power adjustments, and rain sensing wipers. A navigation system is also available.
The new C will once again house a 5.7 liter Hemi V-8. This engine provides the 300 with 340 horsepower and 390 pound feet of torque, and the C is launched from 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds. Fuel efficiency is a casualty of both the larger engine and the addition of all wheel drive, down from 21/28 mpg for the base model to 18/24 mpg. However, the engine is able to operate on just four cylinders when less power is needed. The Hemi is mated with a five-speed automatic transmission. This transmission and the AWD system are borrowed from the old Mercedes E-Class-a platform that the German automaker and Chrysler relative retired in 2002.
According to the limited consumer reviews, Chrysler may have begun to quell some reliability issues on this new model. There have been no reported recalls on any 300 in 2007 so far.
