The Best Truck I Had Ever Owned — There are so many things that can be done to the Toyota Tacoma. Modifications are unlimited to your requirements. The Tacoma has been a very reliable truck for me when driving to and from work, or towing a trailer across the country and in rain or shine. I am definitely buying another Toyota Tacoma in the near future.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Wide-body, SR5 package, reliability, never have any issues with anything mechanical

Cons: I don't have any cons that I can think of

Nice Truck — It is my favorite truck as far as looks go. I like the take off power of the truck. It handles well in ice and snow. It is reliable. The oil filter location is awkward and annoying to change. The engine is pretty loud.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks, speed, holds value, reliability

Cons: Loud engine, price

Great — This is a great vehicle, 4 cylinder engine which saves fuel but it is a 2.7 liter which gives you the power when required. Access cab is good to carry personal stuff inside the cabin. It has the long bed which is great to move things around.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fuel saver, reliable and off road (4X4)

Cons: Small cabin

Awesome — I miss this truck. Sold it to get an SUV for the wife when we found out we were pregnant. It was fun, useful, reliable, great in the snow. Low maintenance cost. High resale. Great towing capacity. Factory Tires weren't great but with an upgrade it was all there!

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Perfect Truck

Cons: Not a great stereo

Love The Truck — I liked everything about this truck. Great power, nice looking, very reliable, easy to maintain, never had any issues with this truck. This was my 3rd Tacoma and they are the best small trucks out there. They also hold their value very well.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Nice looking truck, roomy, plenty of power, no issues at all

Cons: Gas mileage is poor

The Perfect Pick-up For Someone Except For...... —

This truck was awesome for the 7 years that I owned it. I honestly didn't have a desire at all to get rid of it because there wasn't another pickup truck out there that I felt was more reliable nor had the style like a true truck should be. Most of the other models went with more of a plastic frame and my 2006 still had the metal body with chrome bumpers (even toyota switched to plastic shortly after). I truly loved this truck until... until the rust on the frame started to become noticeable. The truck was kept in my garage during the winter months and it still had notice rust all on the frame. My wife's CR-V, which is only a year newer, has NO rust and looks brand new. The kicker is that Toyota KNOWS there is an issue but pretty much tells their customers that they are out of luck. There are many forms online that speak of this problem and some of the horror stories are awful. There are cases where 2006 Tacoma owners have had to scrap their trucks because they would not pass the yearly state inspection in PA. There is no way this should be happening with a Toyota product that is only 7 years old. People purchase them for their reputation and the fact that they hope to keep them for 10+ years. Toyota acknowledges the fact that there is an issue but have declined to take responsibility for any model newer than 2005. They had a program in place a couple of years ago to either replace the frame on older models or give the owners 150% of blue book value for their trucks. It is really disappointing that they didn't stand up and take care of all of their mistakes. Other than that though the truck truly was amazing. There are also many people who have this model and have not seen any rust (they just don't live on the east coast). I highly recommend the truck for those in dry areas or in the southern areas. just please keep in mind that if you life on the east coast it is really important to get it inspected before you purchase it and then get an undercoating applied to protect your investment.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Style, engine reliability, body clearance,  rugged, handling, off-road package, space and comfort in the double cab, layout of controls

Cons: frame rust, frame rust, frame rust, Toyota's warranty on their product when they know something is wrong.

Very Reliable Truck — This truck overall did what it's supposed to do. Capacity of 5 people with a whole entire bed to load up to head out to the Beach or Picnic. Does great in the snow with it's 4x4 mode. Very good handling on the highways.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: sports package has the bucket seats, very comfortable.

Cons: load capacity

Reliable And Sporty — I liked the look and feel of the truck when I purchased. Very sporty looking and yet close to the feel of a car. When I was shopping for a car or truck to buy my husband, a friend recommended that I check out the Tacoma. She had this truck in California and loved it. Never dies! She was right. This has been the most reliable, easy to maintain vehicle I have ever owned.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Reliable and easy to maintain.

Cons: Not comfortable for long rides.

Love It! — This truck was my daily driver/family car/work vehicle. I used this to take the fam on trips, move numerous family members, haul dirt/tan bark/lumber etc for home projects and everything else that you would buy a truck for. I never had to replace anything or put it in the shop for an extended period of time. Just normal maintenance. Love this truck!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Well built. ZERO issues. Super Dependable.

Cons: None

Best Truck I've Owned!! — More like what didn't I like. It truly is the best truck I have ever owned. Ive had Power Strokes, Duelies, GMC etc and the Toyota Tacoma tops them all. Easy to maneuver, park, it goes through winter conditions like a boss. Selling it is a heart break but getting my teen into an econ car forces the sale.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: This truck is a sports car wrapped in a pick up body, it handles exceptional on dry and snow/icy roads. The stock JBL sound system is perfect by today's standards and as long as you keep up on routine maintenance it will see 300,000 miles easy.

Cons: Back seat space is somewhat small but its great for kids or short trips.
