A Great Car — This car does just about everything right: good power and handling, reliability, excellent build quality. With the power top, it is a most entertaining car. The gearbox and linkage just works in perfect harmony, giving short, precise shifts. The all-wheel-drive takes a little getting used to, but once familiarized, it can help in acceleration and cut under steering. I joined Porsche Club of America to participate in their Driver Education sessions on various tracks. By the time of my third such event, I managed to get into mild, sustained four-wheel drifts around the longer corners. I have a growing respect for my C4S Cabrio!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: A great sports car

Cons: Expensive maintenance

First Class Sports Car — This car is such high quality that driving, handling and braking is graceful and flawless. Only once did I get caught in a unexpected rainstorm and it handled just remarkably, more than I expected. This car is a head turner, always getting stopped in parking lots asking about it. This car comes with no negatives- just pure awesome!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Classy sport feel. Tons of speed and looks amazing!

Cons: Loud when talking on phone or in drive thru.

One Of The Great Sports Cars Of The World — I avoided the convertible because it was told that they get squeaky after a few years. Its a great second car. I recommend buying one that is 6 + years old to get great value for the money. The S coupe has enhanced power and braking over the base model and helps turn a lot of heads

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Love this car. Not for everyone, but it makes driving fun.

Cons: Pretty pricey for tires, oil changes. Not great for long trips. Only room enough for me and my golf clubs.

If You Want A Pure Driving Experience That You Can Daily Drive And Drive On The Racetrack.... — I have enjoyed this car on a 12 hour trip, daily errands and on the race track. The total driving experience is such a great balance from the steering feel, brake feel, exhaust noise and great engine. If you have a short list of cars including m3's, 370's, etc - drive them all and the porsche will make sense why its the best enthusiast choice. The only competition is porsche's own cayman/boxster which are a screaming deal.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: If you are an enthusiast - there is nothing better if you dont have to have four seats. The car can be one of the nimblest sports cars or a luxury car depending on the mood.

Cons: The only con i can think of (from what my expectations of the car were) is the erratic check engine lights. Cayman and Boxster are just as amazing for less.

Ultimate Driving Machine — I use this as my daily driver and I love getting in it every morning. I found it with low miles and in immaculate condition. I couldn't be more pleased with the handling and power. I hope to get a Turbo one day.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Everything

Cons: Tickets

The 911 For The Daily Commute To Work. —

I wanted to try out a 2WD 911 so I switched from a 996 Turbo to a 997 Carrera S with PASM. I must say, the PASM is phenomenal. I never seen or felt an electronic system that makes an instantaneous and very noticeable difference in how the car handles and responds to the throttle...it's awesome. In "normal" mode the car eats up bumps and handles plushly but still quickly. In "Sport" mode, you feel every crevice and crack in the road the instant you push the button, and I mean the instant, it's very noticeable. This system gives you the best of both worlds. The 2WD car handles a lot better than the AWD Turbo too. It doesn't understeer as bad on corner entry and in fact it seems to apply a brake to the inside rear wheel which pulls the front of the car exactly were you want it to go...really cool. It has an amazing amount of corner exit grip too. And it sounds awesome on full song north of 5,000 Rpms....(not as good as a GT3, but better than a Turbo). A really fun car that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to maintain either. People have this false idea that Porsche parts cost some ridiculous amount of money. They really dont. Some things you expect to be expensive aren't and some things you think would be reasonable aren't (like the ash tray). Definitely cheaper than my old BMW.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Old school 911 engine sound. PASM is phenomenal! Brakes are awesome. Interior is awesome. Handling is very neutral for a rear engine car. Reliable. Light weight. Fun to drive.

Cons: Prefer the feeling of the old school steel doored 911's like the 993, the 996 and 997 doors feel flimsy. Not a true dry-sump engine. Has some design flaws in the motor that need to be looked after to keep the car reliable. Squeaks and rattles from everywhere.

Love My 911 — Love the 911 -it is so fun to drive - fits like a glove and just hugs the road. The Cobalt blue color makes the car stand out and I love when people stare. And I love when the car goes zoom, zoom and is down the road before you know you know you are out of first gear.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: How much fun it is to drive

Cons: Wish it was a convertible

4s — Great fun, but need empty highland roads to really enjoy it. Average about 18mpg most of the time which isn't bad, amazingly if you turn the sports suspension off it makes for a very good long distance motor, if you can block out the thoughts that it's depreciation wasted on a motorway..

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: immense cornering

Cons: if you don't like big bills, avoid
