Fantastic Car- Just Be Prepared! —

Love my car, looks and handles great, hard suspension and not a lot of roll around corners- It's really hugs the road. For a hard top convertible you don't expect much boot space, but still does alright for the odd shopping trip. The roof sometimes drips water in a heavy downpour, but it expected a little if feel. The car has a lot of 'zip' and is fantastic on fuel. Easy to dive and has a smooth feel. Unfortunately I've done two starter motors in 2 months. I have had an Auto Electrician look at it and he has had 2 Tigra's in his garage in the past 15 months with the same starter motor problem. He said it's an inherited problem from the manufacture with bad wiring to the ignition switch causing it to engage the starter and burning them out. I am installing a bypass switch to press while starting the engine, then it will keep the ignition switch contained so it doesn't engage the starter while driving and prevent burn-out. Overall it's cost me a lot in repairs to overcome the starter motor problem $1300AU. It's done 60,000kms now and is getting the Cam belt replaced as they should be done every 4 years or 60,000km - DON'T wait for 90,000- 100,000kms to get it replaced as they are known to break early. Look after your car with regular services and read up on the model to understand the pros and cons.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Looks great
Drives well
Cheap to run

Cons: Starter Motor / Ignition Switch problems
Blind spots with roof on
Can't recline seat on long drives

2006 Opel TigraReview

Inspired By Viagra — It feels wonderful to have a small 2 seat cab roadster with generous performance. The only problem with it is that the brand is an Opel and that the rest of Opel´s model range is crap (except GT). Owner costs and isurance is cheap.

Pros: The fresh design and the fun driving performance

Cons: It is unfortunately an Opel

2006 Opel TigraReview

Opel Tigra 1.8li Sport — In the beginning she went great then she started breaking... She is on her 3rd starter motor and everything in the car has been replaced from the clutch to the door panel, everything but the engine, touch wood! if you are willing to pay a fortune on repairs then go ahead buy this car, its such a pitty cause she is fun to drive but way too unrelyable.

Pros: Speed and safe great fun

Cons: costs a lot to repair and breaks a lot!
