2006 MINI Cooper S HatchbackReview

So Much Fun. — We have had this car since it was brand new and love it. It is a super-fun way to travel, especially if you spend time in urban areas. Of course, it's not suited for a large family, nor for cargo, but you probably knew that already! It has handling and German build quality comparable to cars twice its price! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: The most fun hatchback you can find. Cons: Maintenance can get expensive. ![]() Looking for a Used Cooper in your area?CarGurus has 3,969 nationwide Cooper listings starting at $1,800. |
2006 MINI Cooper S John Cooper WorksReview

Over All Fun, Fun, Fun! — The name Cooper is highly regarded in Mini circles, what with world-championship racing car producer John Cooper having lavished his skills on the original car and BMW wisely reestablishing the name Cooper S for the hot version of its latter-day Mini. Super fun to drive! Really fast and easy to maneuver though traffic. Flashy and sporty. Limited edition, so very few on the road. Pros: Easy to park, good gas milage. Cons: race car |

More Mini's Please~ — the green mini is cute, but in this environment (dusty and moon rocks) is unhappy, as I've got to slolem past boulders and craters, actually dodged a crater, then smashed the passenger mirror into a blue recycling bin, the bin tipped over and the mirror spider cracked...this town and the MINI are having problems getting along~ the town.....Clearlake, CA. , the poorest town in northern California...there ain't on streetlights, there ain't no good roads....it's a bust automotively...now if a 4x4 would be right at home here~ Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: zippy~ wants to go faster~ Cons: too low to the ground- |

Yeah Mini!!! — I love this car, but hard for it to be my only car. Need a little more room for camping & other activities. Very dependable, always friendly. I love that the automatic also has an option for manual shift. The seats are plenty comfortable for a long road trip. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Fun, fun, fun to drive! Excellent mileage and still has super-charged power. Go-kart handling. Easy to park in dense downtown areas. I drove it in deep snow with no problems in Seattle's snowpocalypse, but then again I grew up in CO. Very comfortable on a 2-day road trip. Cons: Not a big family car of course. I went camping in it a couple times and it was a bit tight with all my gear + dog. |

Mini's Are Awsome — i really love how this car handles, it is quick and peppy. The Mini culture is also awsome, the dealership is really responsive and knowledgeable. and if you love to drive this is the car for you, what more can i say. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: go kart handling, fun to drive, stylish, lots of power for a little car, roomier than it looks Cons: what's not to like |

Love My Mini — I love my little car! It gets great gas mileage and handles wonderfully in the curves. I love the Harman Kardon sound system,it really rocks. Even though the car is a 4 cylinder and not even an S model, it has really good acceleration. It is a joy to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Drives great, good power for a 4 cylinder and great gas mileage. Cons: Not alot of room in the back. |

I Say Yes! — It had awesome acceleration and handled beautifully around corners at higher speeds. The build was sturdy and rarely needed repairs. The supercharger on this little monster was amazing compared to the newer turbocharged version i tried! As for its appearance.... Its a Mini nuff'said! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: I loved this car... was sooo fun to drive! Cons: I hated having to sell it! |

Firecracker On Wheels — I love this car. I saved for years to be able to afford it. It is light weight, you can park almost anywhere. I always feel in control, it brakes and handles superbly. Definitely worth the money. It is a driving experience! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: I love this car. It is an absolute blast!! Park it anywhere, great gas mileage, people love to ask me about it. It makes a statement. Everyone should drive a Mini! Cons: My baby doesn't fit in it, so we have to get a more family oriented car. |

The Best And Most Fun, Cabrio In It's Class That Money Can Buy — My 2nd MINI- I'm ready for #3 Never used the free maintenance. After 5 years the quality is still tight. Still get looks when driving it. I feel MINI makes a quailty car. I can only hope the new platform is as good, fun and reliable. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Fun- the looks- handling Cons: none |
